[Innova] RIP Gazelle

We used to hyzer flip Stingrays and Eclipses for max D. God, that just made me feel old.

LOL...It seems odd, but then again the Aero used to hold the world record.

The ESP Cyclone is the closest thing to a Tourney Pro Cyclone I've ever thrown. It opens up potential new life for that great disc.

Mine is on the way right now...should be here Monday. I can't wait!

Ok, thanks Three Putt. Yeah, I am sad to see the Gazelle go, it is actually one of the discs that I throw the furthest, next to my valkyrie. Yeah, bought a Goblin at the alpine shop, had a gift card and nothing else to spend it on, huge waste, not really sure what its for.

And thanks for the help on the thumber post. I joined the league this summer and I will definitely keep a lookout for those guys.

Is it odd that DGC has so many Pegasus in stock?

Yeah... that's actually really cheap for Pegasuses. Most places that have any left want $15 for them. The four they have for $10 above 170g are tempting. I still throw the Pegasus, but got 7-8 backups when they quit making them, before the price went up, so I'm set. But it's still one of my favorite discs. Very predictable, overstable midrange that fights wind incredibly well. Has about the same distance as a Roc but can take more power and has a predictable fade at the end -- one of the best discs ever.

OK, All these Gazelles are from before they actually called it DX plastic, the latest ones are from 1999.
There are 2 from the '99 MADC Tournament Series Grey 170g, Vanilla 168g
Ice Bowl '99 White 172g
MADC Series (Mad Hatter) Black 172g
2 Seneca Turtle Tangerine 173g
NW Series '96 Orange 172g
NW Series '99 White 172g
'96 PDGA PRo Worlds '96 (Players Package Disc) White 174g
WA State Championships (undated but it's from 95 or 96) Blue 170g

I'm pretty sure there's another WA State one around here someplace, it's just not where I thought it was.

Sorry for the lousy picture, but you get the idea. All are unthrown - in perfect condition, a couple have minor shelf wear.

Craig, I would be interested in the white worlds one...pm me price if you'd like.

Not really, especially since the ZoneDriven site no longer sells discs. I'd expect DGC to pop up with the stuff that turned up on a back shelf as Innova East from now on. It's all in who you know.

If DGC had turned up with a batch of Tourney Pro Cyclones and Sun King had a big new stock of Pegasus, now THAT would surprise me.

i first read this thread last year when it was fresh, and the gazelle peaked my interest then. while shopping for a friend over the winter i came across one a kept it for myself. i just had a chance to use it this past weekend and i love it! i'm headin back to that same store this weekend to see if i can pick up another one seeing as they've been discontinued and if anything happens i wanna have a back up. so with that i just wanna say thanks billnchristy for bringing the gazelle to my attention.

Yeah they are still around...in fact, I bought a dx x-out that had the flight numbers on it, proof of a new run.

They are alive....bought some more myself in DX, plus a Glow Champion version is a CFR. Hopefully, some regular champ, too.

Maybe. It's proof they've stamped some up recently, but the way I've heard it, Innova sits on unstamped discs all the time. I've read about 11x TeeBirds with with 12x stamps.

CFR Gazelles keep me hoping rumours of one day seeing CFR Cheetahs are true.

Another interesting note is that the DX stingray is now a www. mold like the star.

I just bought this from my buddy for 10 bucks its still in pretty decent condition, id say at least a 7/10 with ink on back though. I was wondering, are all these in the 9x kc pro the ontario mold because thats what mine is. Either way i have disced down and found the gazelle useful, especially this model/mold for shaping lines. Any info would be appreciated.

My dx stingray is a www on the bottom with no location where it was made. almost all the rest of mine say ontario or rancho. \

I dont quite like the feel of the stingray, the dx plastic of it feels a bit different than the rest of mine. is this a bad run of it?

I've hardly ever thrown it as it turns and turns until it hits the ground for me, so i figured my form was the issue, not the disc.
