UDisc Round Ratings

I did a free trial of UDisc+ just to check out their round rating system. Anyone else used it yet? It's 0-300 scale. I'm curious how closely if at all it correlates to the PDGA ratings. Obviously they're different algorithms and PDGA ratings are far from perfect.

FWIW I shot an 864 round today which equated to a 186 Udisc rating. Anyone else have UDisc+ and care to share their scores? Off my very limited information I think ~215 Udisc would equate to a 900 rated round.

I shot a 945 rated round that was 220 on UDisc.

I heard this about 2 weeks ago.. this is "he said, he said" type stuff.

UDisc rating X 2 + 500

So UDisc you shot 200

200 X 2= 400+500..900 PDGA rating

Don't know if the calculations are accurate with the more difficult and naturally penalizing courses - had a 218 uDisc rating for an even par on Harmony Bends Blue par 68 layout categorized as 'Very long - highly technical'. That same score recently produced a 970ish PDGA rating. I'd expect closer to 230 or 240 from UDisc.

I'm guessing the algorithm was trained on 'average' difficulties for hole lengths which Harmony Bends likely exceeds in technicality/punishment for almost all holes.

This rating system is terrible. I am an above average player and receive closer to half the udisc points than 2/3 where I should be. The course should be rated for difficulty but otherwise the rating should be a 1:1 scale. I hate to think this is something I am paying for.

I signed up to be the udisc course ambassador at my local 9-hole so I could create smart layouts that would give us ratings.
Udisc x 2 + 500 = PDGA makes alot of sense relative to my pdga rating.

Smart layouts??? Please, please do not set up a handful of smart layouts for a 9 hole course. This is one of the most frustrating things to all traveling and local players. I mean....how many "smart layouts" can a nine holer have?

It can have 2, main and main twice for an 18 hole round. And I deleted the old layouts.
It never occurred to me to use layouts to keep the course clear. That opens up some interesting possibilities.

And for disc golfers that are confused navigating disc golf courses with a gps enabled app, might I suggest theipf.org to help clear things up.

Thanks. The post was directed toward many courses having a preposterous number of smart layouts.

And so on. Sitting at a new course, looking at a dozen layouts, often designated with local nomenclature, is frustrating.

If I had known they were going to do this, I would have worked with them to connect some of the verses with the hole design and maybe gotten in some humorous (to me anyway) wording twists.

Exactly, and added some nicknames, like "Another damned hole", "Hell hole", "Fallen short", and so on...

I enjoyed my rounds at First Calvary Baptist. It is amazing how many courses there are in the country on church property made available to the public. Not many tee signs in my experience are as explicit, but I have no problem with them trying to spread their message (especially on their property). Hey evangelicals are gonna evangelize. I might not agree with the message but am appreciative of the access and try to be respectful.

Regarding uDisc round ratings:

Still not sure that they mean anything individually. But it's interesting to see an average over a few dozen, and then check my play against that average.
