[Vibram] Vibram Disc Golf Thread (Part II)

I have a firm, and it is one of the only fast drivers I can get a correct flight out of. It's a no brainer buy, in my opinion.

Not an accurate measure, just how I gauges it on a 600 foot hole at my local course. Come to think of I threw the medium on a 500 foot hole and came up within 50 feet so I guess I'm getting more in touch with it. Still wish it would have flipped a little more I couldn't parked it -_-

I started out buying mediums, got my Ridge and Obex in last week, and just got a medium Trak in today.

I think I should have ordered firms, the Texas heat has been making those things feel so soft and floppy. Which is okay for the putter, but I just don't feel solid throwing a midrange around thats so soft.

A friend of mine lost my teebird, though about replacing it with an ascent, what do y'all think?

The Lace is so enticing but I doubt I have the form to throw it yet.

I love my ascent, it fits the teebird role pretty well. Usually what I throw off the tee on around 350' holes, the medium broken in will hyzer flip very nicely, maybe a little bit of tracking to the right if I'm going for a little more distance, my firm with the higher parting line won't turn at all.

I was going to get all my vibrams in Medium, but you're making me rethink this, hilasian

Well I don't allow the firms to touch wooded course but I prefer to drive with them over the mediums. Feels better, some have this really nice gritty and tacky texture. I keep both in the bag though, putting putters are firm, sometimes drive off the tee if I'm trying to get an ace with one I particularly like. Mediums and softs rule the forest, nothing better than seeing a disc hit the edge of a tree and roll off and continue toward the target, I just don't get that from plastic.

Hmm... You don't think the firm will handle the woods?

That's the opposite of me, I love putting with my medium Ridge, feels a lot like a more comfortable Soft focus, granted I don't think I've ever putted with a firm disc.

I have a firm ascent, and it took the place of my teebird immediately. I wasn't really in love with my Teebird--form issues for me, not the disc's fault--so this may change how you like it. For example, I love buzzzes, but the MVP Axis and the Vibram ibex both performed below my expectations. How can this be as they are almost the same disc? I'd say it's solely because I loved my buzzz too much for any disc to really perform as well. If I throw a bad buzzz shot, it's my fault. A bad ibex shot, and that disc is terrible.

If you are willing to let the Ascent in because it is beautiful, it should do anything your Teebird does, and it will look nice while doing so!

I just don't want to risk their stability that's why I keep two of almost everything, fresh flight and broken in flight. I putted with a medium ridge for about 2 years, but I got 2 firms from the Birdie bash that had the greatest texture and now the white one is my main putter, along with my half n half VO ridge.

Oh I see. I really just started a few months ago, and I haven't developed my bag, but I can see the benefits of having multiple of the same mold.

Somewhere down the road, I can see myself buying firms and mediums of all the molds.

How does that half and half fly? Seems like such a bizarre idea!
