I'm gonna throw my two cents in. I think anyone that got the original Ridge Roller carts from Joe , even when they became Zuca and up until the last minute he was actually setting them up and shipping them himself and handed most everything off to Zuca, got a excellent quality product that most had 0 problems with except a few people had handle issues, I did not. had my cart for almost 2 years now and love it.
At the time I thought it was ironic that some Delta fans always made a point that the Delta was better because they did not need to make any " modifications " to their carts right out of the box, which you really didn't have to with the RR/Zuca either, there were just some cool options like the putter pouch, acc. bag. etc. Shortly after I saw just as many "modifications" to Delta carts as I did the Zucas
A lot of people had issues with the Zuca handle and the lugs and the rack once Zuca took over, and I think from what I've read Zuca at least addressed these and seems to do a good job with the warranty issues. I can't blame the Delta fans for pointing that out because it's true and the Delta does not have near as many mechanical issues. Having said that, I'm still glad I got mine direct from Joe. Most of the issues with the Zuca are easily fixable as well.
The Delta is a great cart and the quality is outstanding on them for sure. You can do most of the same mods I've seen on both carts on almost any cart if you McGruber it enough
My main reasons for the RR/Zuca were storage and the seat height. I'm 6,6" and the seat was a big selling point for me with any cart and the Zuca just fit me better. Also you gotta remember, when they first came out the Delta cart was $200 more than the Ridge roller, and when they saw he was starting to move units they lowered it by a hundred but it was still the more expensive cart. I get that you can add in cost like for fenders and whatnot, but you could actually do some good mods for really cheap if you are handy and creative enough
I do feel bad for anyone that has had a bad experience with either cart, not fun to spend that much on for what for most of us was probably our first "real" DG designed cart only to have things break. My first flat was not fun
Here's a pic of my baby before I painted the fenders. The only thing prying this out of my hands is the new Ridge Roller cart and bag combo, pre-ordered and coming soon baby
