Pros:

Nice Mach III baskets that look like new. Clearly marked hole numbers on the baskets. The signs were easy to read and were durable for all seasons. You can see the Illinois river close up from 2 of the holes. The first three holes had me thinking this course might be okay. Hole one was on an embankment that required you to stay off the parking lot. Hole 2 was blind with the basket hidden over a similar embankment. Hole 3 was a long throw with the road on the right while throwing and having to land on top of the embankment that stretched the entire hole. Hole 6 had a line of pine trees to contend with on the right and Hole 7 had a line of trees by the river on the right that had to be avoided but other than that the only other obstacle on the course was a single light pole. The grass was not too long and it was stroller friendly.

Cons:

Holes 4, 5, 8, 9 have zero obstacles to contend with.
There are very few obstacles and no new trees planted for the course to improve in the future. There are just too many open holes with Zero obstacles. There are no tee pads which I find ironic because the parking lot is in the town's gravel storage and there were at least 8 different varieties of materials that could be use to create tee pads there.

Other Thoughts:

Unfortunately this is another typical boring beginners 9-hole course that are found throughout Northern Illinois.Thought I would at least try and play at least once because I live close by and sadly that will most likely be the last time. It just frustrates me because there is so much land by the Illinois river that could be used to create nice courses but instead we get an open field by the river with no trees even planted. Other than practicing or introducing people to the sport this course is not worthwhile playing.
