Pros:

(Feb. 2023 Update in 'Other Thoughts')
-Bikinis on lake Beaverfork! (Now that I've your attention here's the real 'pros')
-Plenty of parking next to hole 1
-Tees are smooth concrete, most level with ground
-Baskets are in good shape
-Signs are in good shape
-Cart friendly
-Exceptionally well maintained
-Benches on several holes (4, 7, 8, 10, 14, 16, 18 if memory serves)
-Good spacing between baskets/tees (you shouldn't get dome'd from an unrelated hole)
-Fun elevation in front 9
-Restrooms by hole 1 and 9 (see cons)
-Great course for beginners
-Good pacing for warming up in round
-Beautiful area by the lake
-Hole 19 is pretty fun. By 18's pin around the baseball fields, across the road,
and to 7's basket.

Cons:

-A bit easy for experienced players
-Only a few technical holes
-Back 9 is pretty flat
-Rain can wreak havoc on this course, flooding out several baskets/tees
-Not as many trash cans (In 2016 they were plentiful, not sure where they went)
-Can get fairly crowded
-Hammockers, picnickers, sportsball players, etc, absolutely adore occupying fairways
-Cross Country events may make play impossible during some weekends
-Crosswalk between 9 & 10 is fairly ignored by drivers
-Restrooms are closed far earlier/later than you would think for winter
-Course does not loop (18's pin is not by 1's tee, by a long shot)
-Grounds are pretty prone to flooding/mud.

Other Thoughts:

-This is my OG home course. I learned to play here, ace here, fail here, hit cars here.
This course is home. In fact my reason for reviewing it is because I'm only just now,
after 5.6 years, replacing it as my "most played" course since beginning in 2016.
-Beaverfork has a great community. In all the places I've lived/played since then,
I've never found a place so open to playing together. Be it back in 2016 some locals inviting
me to play, or a few weeks back some new locals doing the same. There's always someone that
wants to play in Conway.
-I can't count this either way, given I don't know if he's still alive or not,
but there used to be a guy that always walked the course every evening with some cool dogs
that loved headpats (especially the dachsund)
-The exit to this course is dangerous. In the few years I lived there I was witness to
at least two dozen wrecks. Several with motorcycles. Involving one use of CPR from hole 7,
and another being a witness for a fatal t-bone. So please,
if you're making a left out of the park, it's a blind hill curve from the right. Use caution!

Fun Fact: Until someone proves otherwise, I claim to have the record for most cars hit in one
throw. On hole 11, in the old rightmost position the meta was to throw over the road and
fade back. Well I threw one that didn't fade back. Jacked up doober truck caught it in the wheel
while it was rolling in the road, that slungshot it up into a red car's door, that popped it up
into the air where it hit the roof of another car before it rolled around and let another car
bump it with a tire back in bounds, setting up for a par.

Feb. 2023 Update:
- I loved this course, so it pains me to do this, but it's being penalized -.5
- Changes that don't majorly affect 'feel' won't be listed
- Update to #2's tee is a good change. It's prettier, safer, and accentuates lefty advantage.
- #4's pin was moved back/right. From a fun accessible over-water shot to an "I hope the trees
don't slap me into the water" shot
- #6's tee/pin change, + mando, is useless. I like the new pin posistion, and I understand what
they were trying to do. However, making the hole longer and straighter still means rhbh throws
are skipping into #7's tee. Instead of alienating lefty BHs/RHFHs with a useless mando they
should've made the hole shorter in it's natural lane with no mando. All problems solved.
- #10's tee was moved way back into trees. I do actually like the change, it makes the hole
a true par 3. It does feel very unnatural on a rec level course though.
- #12's tee moved right. Moronic. All the change did was screw over leftys. I fully believe
the change was made because the local club guys couldn't throw a straight putter shot.
- #14's tee moved back. This hole is a train wreck. It was changed because the local club
guys couldn't throw a straight putter shot.
- #16's basket was moved way too deep off to the right. 290' out you have to land in a 20'
bubble to even have a shot down a 100', 6' wide tunnel shot. Anywhere else it's poke and pray
with abysmal rough. Awful change.
- #18's pin "change" isn't really new. It just never sat over there because it's just not a
good spot for a basket. Makes the hole feel confused.
- Overall the changes to the course just feel wrong. Not in a habitual resistance to change
kind of way, but as a "this feels poorly designed" kind of way. In fact the only reason I've
come to update this is because of how well known it is that this course was screwed up by
a club wanting to "increase it's difficulty." It's still an average course worth playing,
but just expect to do some head scratching on a few holes' layouts.
