Finally a course in Cologne 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 7, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Perfect equipment. The Baskets and tees as well as the signage were absolutely perfect.

-The layout was good for the terrain/location. Trees, bushes and the huge fences of the nearby soccerfield call for some variety in shots.

-Very good for quick rounds and very good for beginners.

Cons:

-The biggest con for me was the location of the course. There is a soccer-field close to some holes. If you happen to throw over that fence or !!!roll right under it!!!, retrieving that disc might take some time as there is no way to access the field other than by the main entrance anywhere but close to the course itself.

-There might be some traffic and some other people playing soccer, making some holes unplayable.

-The layout is good for the location but its still not very challenging for advanced players except maybe 3 holes.

Other Thoughts:

Its nice to have a course in the area of Cologne and im happy that the community managed to get a course.
If you happen to be nearby and want to play Disc Golf you might want to pay this place a visit but oits not woth a longer drive.

Nice Pitch and Put 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 30, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

Good baskets

Good signage

Some variety in holes

Cons:

Multi-Use Area: if you go ob you likely have to retrieve your disc from a tennis court or football field. They are accessible, despite the big fences, but it's annoying when those facitilities are in use. Also have to wait for dog walkers and other users of the park.

Some baskets are used for multiple holes.

Some holes are basically just a long put (like a 150 feet shot with no obstacles).

Other Thoughts:

I'm extremely happy that Cologne finally has a disc golf course. It will be a huge step in locally growing the sport.

That being said, it's really just a pitch an put course. Only 9 holes, only 7 baskets, some holes ridiculously short/easy. However, there is also a tunnel shot and some corners you have to take with lots of OB around, so it definitely is a great course to get into disc golf and to introduce others to the sport.

I wish for this course to be used a lot so that the city recognized the need to allow for a bigger course to be built.

If I'd live in the area I'd probably be there every day, but for me it's a one hour drive and I feel that's not really worth it. Even if you live in Cologne it's a bit out of the way.
