Discing in Lassen! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 1, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

It's easy to find off the hwy with the direction and its in the gorgeous Lassen National Forest. Across from the rest area is a nice location if you want to pester others in the car to disc on a trip or while camping nearby
There is a decent variety of shots, none of them are really duplicative even though trees are really the only obstacle. Lastly, you probably won't have to wait behind other players, ever.

Cons:

The biggest con would have to be lack of development, having no amenities to speak of. The course is absent of everything from signs and pole holes to benches, trash cans, and trails on and between holes. Even with painted trees for targets it can be hard to navigate on the first play so make sure & check the map in links/files. I also would have liked to see more elevation change too, the main thing the holes are missing is up & downhill shots.

Other Thoughts:

I've always wanted to play in the snow and courses in the central valley don't really offer that. This course really isn't bad it's just under developed. I did want to rate it higher . Just with trails on and between holes, log rounds for seats, and pole holes this course could be rated much better. With a back nine and benches it could be one beat many of Redding's courses. Being the closest course to Susanville it is worth the drive to try.
