Solid Recreational Course Out Near The Airport! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 17, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

Bois de Belle-Riviere is a large regional park with a multitude of activities going including horse back riding, soccer fields, ice hockey arenas, picnic areas, nature areas, swimming pool, concessions and much more for the entire family. The disc golf course has recently been expanded to it's current 18 hole format. The back nine is a short walk from # 9. The course features a nice course sign at both the start of the front and back nines. There are nice metal signs at each hole giving the distance for both the longer (Blue) and the shorter (Red) tees. The tee pads although a little on the small side are just fine for this course with it's mostly recreational lengths. The baskets are brand new Discatchers wither the yellow band and the numbers on them.

The hole lengths are given in meters so us players from south of the border are faced with two math problems here. First, we have to multiple the number by 3 to get close to the correct distance but then for true accuracy, we have to add more to make up for how much longer a meter is than yard?

The Back 9 plays a little shorter and more technical than the front. I found a number of these holes to be more creative and perhaps, more challenging. # 12 was just a short little 47 meter toss over or around a large clump of bushes but I liked it. #14 was 78 meters from the Blue (Longs) but the basket was tucked in tight between two rows of large hedge bushes. #16 was a short but tight dogleg. And #18 was probably the prettiest hole on the course.

Cons:

The course is almost totally flat and plays recreational length from the longs (probably an average length of 260 ft.) and beginner length from the short (average of maybe 200 ft.).

$6 per person charge to get into the park. So even though my wife wasn't playing, I had to pay for her.

Navigation would be a little difficult the first time through. I printed off the map and it was tiny and of no use.

Other Thoughts:

My thanks to my three new French speaking friends, Fred, Fred and GF for letting me play with them today. It was wonderful not having to navigate a new course by myself. Merci beaucoup, gentlemen!

I would have no problem coming back here time and time again and playing this pretty little course. It's a fun, easy little throw.
