Pros:
Some basic technology such as signs and tee pads. The baskets are there (Well, 8 out of nine is not bad) but that's about it. BCTI is a very large, sprawling campus which takes a while to circumnavigate in case you miss the obvious turn off on Wayburne Drive.
The course starts by the tennis courts and then plays in a clockwise direction around the playing field. Playing it this direction offers you a complete circuit of 240' hyser throws. You could turn around and play it counter clockwise and work on your anhyser throws. Or you could simple play a safari round and tee off from wherever the hell you want.
The course is quite simply a very basic rec course or just a practice area. There is nothing here to excite most disc golfers, unless maybe, you've just arrived from somewhere way back in the woods and have spent a lifetime throwing at trees and small animals and this was your first experience with actual baskets!
I think the # 1 basket has been lost to a small construction project. I don't think it was where the on-line map indicated.
My fellow Washingtonian and esteemed reviewer, JR Stengele, played and reviewed this course almost exactly six years ago, and since then, there hasn't been any other reviews written. It's quite possible however, that's because there hasn't been a disc golfer here since JR.
Cons:
# 1 basket has been apparently lost to the construction.
No signs.
No tee pads.
Recreational challenge and distances.
Other Thoughts:
If you choose to accept this challenge and become the third player ever to play this course, I have a small suggestion. On # 7, instead of teeing off from next to the basket, instead hike up the stairs and tee it off, thereby adding about 75' and a decent top of the world hyser to this otherwise ordinary hole.
Mr. JR Stengele only awarded this course a 0.5 rating. I only give 0.5 scores to the worst of the worst courses and BCTI isn't nearly that awful, it's only mostly awful. I'll splurge and give it a 1.5.
