Pros:
Not sure if this is a pro or a con, but this course is really pretty easy. If you're a newbie, this is a pro, but an experienced player seriously could score -10 or better fairly easily.
It has some nice elevation changes. It's a pretty park. Not difficult to figure out where to go next. The signs are great and accurate and the tees are concrete. Like most, it's free to play and I really appreciate the people who work on these parks for us to play.
Cons:
I'm relatively new to the sport and I've never played a course where I could reach the basket on every tee shot. I max out between 250-275 feet on my drives. Of course a lot of courses have holes of this distance for most holes but there's obstacles. This course has few. The holes are routed through open fields in a well maintained park. Again, like above this course is too easy which is a pro for beginners but a con for most others.
Other Thoughts:
I don't know if the designers were using the only land made available, but it appears that the huge availability of land in the park means it could have been much longer. I seriously thought that if I lived near here I would play the 1 tee to the 2 basket, 3 tee to the 4, etc making my own lengthier more challenging course.
My title was what I was thinking as I await my first ace. On #5 I set up my camera on record and threw a perfect shot that was heading right at it. A branch overhanging caught it robbing me of what could have been my first. On a later hole my tee shot hit the basket, about a 260 footer down hill. Fun to imagine finally getting an ace someday, and two potential ace throws in one round probably means the course could be quite a bit tougher.
