A Breath of Fresh Air drive by

Cons:

Not that much Shade for the Summer Months and I noticed that 3-4 holes flood if it rains enough.

Other Thoughts:

For what it's worth, I have played over 100 courses. Citizens Lodge was a breath of fresh air compared to many of the other courses in the Panhandle. I love the mowed fairways. The teepads were top notch, no sand or debris on them, perfect size and really good grip. There is some elevation, especially on the Front 9. The baskets are high quality MVP Baskets. With that said, I do wish they went with a brighter color band to match the surrounding beauty and to be able to see clearer in the woods. There is plenty of parking. The park has Trash Cans, Bathrooms and multiple pavilions if you ever need some shade. You will be in the Sun for at least half of the round. There are never any pedestrians or park goers in the way. No roads or paths ever cross through the course, at least from the short pads. No distractions. A mix of Par 3,4 and Par 5s. It seemed to be in a nice neighborhood. I wanted to address some of the other reviews and give my "take". I saw one review where someone complained about every basket being "6 Inches too high". Pretty laughable but I never noticed them being too high and even if they were, there is no regulation height for a basket to be, Lol. I also saw where someone said "The OB seemed highly unnecessary". Well, many of the holes are WIDE OPEN so I am not sure how easy this person wants the course to be. You might as well just go throw in an open field. The OB's keep you honest on otherwise wide open holes. The OB's are actually probably too fair, there is SO much room. I also saw a comment that said throwing far isn't someone's speciality but besides that, it's a fun course. Well, from the short pads if you can literally throw ONLY 150ft then you can Par or Birdie every hole on the course. Lastly, I saw where someone said it was too easy. I will agree it is too easy, if you are playing short pads and you're an Advanced player or better. If you are a Beginner, Rec or Intermediate player then those Par 4's and Par 5's aren't soft. Most course designers make the Par's and distances from the short pads with the idea that if you are playing from the Short pads then you are a Beginner, Rec or Intermediate player. Long story LONG, I will be back!
