Clayton State University 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jun 19, 2016 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Has tee signs only indicating hole number

Good mix of open and wooded fairways

Some holes have slight changes in elevations

Quiet - no one else was playing when I was there

Well-maintained

Free parking

Cons:

Missing tee sign for hole #1 - makes it difficult on where to start...consult the course map

Missing basket for hole #6

Cheap baskets

Course design and flow could use improvement - #7 and #9 baskets are in fairways of other holes, fairways of holes 4&5 and 7&8 crisscross each other

No next tee signs

Other Thoughts:

This course is the only one in Clayton County and is unfortunately not a destination course to play...nice looking campus but not a quality course. Hole #6 has been unplayable for at least 3 months now and the course doesn't seem to get any TLC from the school. I recommend skipping this course as there are better quality ones in the surrounding area.

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 20, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

Has nine baskets, and nine seperate tee off areas.

Quite.

Cons:

Criss crossing fairways.

Easy.

Backtracking.

Easy to throw at wrong basket on #1 and #5.

No directional signs to next tees.

Can be difficult to locate tees.

Other Thoughts:

First off let me say that for what it is it's not that bad. Great course for practice and mid range shots.

The tee's alternate from orange to blue and the corresponding baskets are painted to reflect the color of the tee. This is OK on most of the holes but as stated in the Con's it's really easy to throw at the wrong baskets on #1 and #5 (because there are baskets in the fairway of these holes that belong to other holes!)

Highly recommend having a map, and only then will it be a bit more clear where the tees are.

I wanted to take pictures of the course but I was not allowed to without approval.
