6 holes is better than 9 sometimes

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 28, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

+6 nice baskets
+Tees are marked by a sign and a 2x4 in the ground.
+Shouldn't lose a disc here
+All holes are ace-able
+Solid place for approach practice and for newer players
+Slight up and downhill grades on a few holes
+Good decision to put 6 holes here instead of cramming a dangerous 9er. Overall, the safety aspect was solid.

Cons:

-The tee signs are all facing the wrong directions. They are meant to be looked at from the tee area but not actually aim at the hole.
-Really short and not a lot of variety.
-Natural tees
-Signs are just as confusing as they are helpful
-Won't challenge most players.
-Hole 5 and 6 were confusing. They could have been laid out a bit differently. Otherwise the course flowed pretty well.

Other Thoughts:

+If you are a course bagger or a local that wants practice, come here. If you aren't one of those, this isn't worth your time.
+The course is pretty easy to find, not far from a major highway. Will take like 10 minutes to play.
+There was some kind of gathering taking place at the shelter and we never felt like we were going to endanger anyone there. A good sign for the design of a small park with a disc golf course.

Good intentions that come up short 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 17, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

Professional tee signs on each hole, new DISCatcher baskets

Cons:

Only 6 holes, 3 holes play right along the road with houses on the other side, tee sign distances seem questionable and suggested par is laughable, Holes 5-6 layout is confusing

Other Thoughts:

New course installed in summer 2015. I always like hearing about more and more courses being installed, it shows the sport is growing and getting more recognition. But some parks just can't hold a course and when it tries it may do as much damage as good. This is a very small and very short this city park course. Mostly plays around exterior of park. Being so close to the road and houses worries me about errant shots crossing the road and into private properties and upsetting the park neighbors. The fact it is too small for 9 holes, and probably when the park is in use half of the holes may be unplayable makes me question why even put one in.
