Let's Play Ball

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 10, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Course has some decent distances averaging from the 200-350 foot range. Definitely a place to grip and rip with little to no objects in your way. You are playing around the baseball fields so probably not the best idea to play here when there's a game going on.

- The equipment was more than fine. I believe they were DISCatchers that caught very well and were in brand new shape. I really like these baskets and they seem to hold the test of time.

- The layout is pretty easy to follow so you won't need to pull out uDisc or a map or anything like that. I believe you can see the pins from most of the teepads as well.

- There's a giant parking lot for the baseball fields so parking shouldn't be an issue even if there's a game going on. There is also bathrooms which I am not quite sure are open all year round.

Cons:

- First and foremost, the giant river rocks are a terrible idea for teepads. Always use the smaller, crushed up gravel because those rocks are going to be scattered all over the place in a years time. Also, they are pretty dangerous to be x-stepping over. I basically just tee'd off next to the teebox as I almost twisted my ankle trying to tee off on hole 2.

- There isn't really any tee signs at the moment and I'm not quite sure if they do plan on putting some in any time soon. There are these little placards in the top corner of the teebox that denotes which hole you are on so there's at least something I suppose.

- It's playing around a local ball field that I imagine could get busy during the summertime. So showing up here during that time of the year could potentially be a hit or miss on whether you'd be able to get an entire round in or not.

Other Thoughts:

Overall, this wasn't the worst course I played on my little trip to this area. This was a pretty solid, but pretty boring Wisco 9er. I really hope they change out those giant river rocks for some crushed up gravel because someone is definitely going to twist an ankle trying to x-step.

Side note, this course combined with the high school course down the street makes up a quick bagging sesh if you're one of those course bagger types. Although, I recommend coming here in the fall or later and also after around 4 o'clock if you want to play both courses unobstructed.
