Pros:
Don't forget to your wear your helmet!
Or to bring to your California State approved Disc Golf Bag safety harness!
Or to take the pre-concussion test if case you should fall while playing and suffer a concussion!
Enough! The Deerfield Community Park is a lovely little community park. It has a community center with a thriving child care business, volleyball courts, a large children's play area, tennis courts, walking path and a cute little disc golf course best suited for elementary players. I loved it and shot a strong minus 9. I bet I am no where close to the course to the course record. I assume that someone has shot a minus 11 with two ACES and 7 birdies. Minus 12 ?????
Apparently someone was hit and the cities attorneys went crazy and ordered a redesign of the offending hole, # 9. The redesign now has # 9 playing as a extremely boring, wide open, 125' ACE run. Wouldn't be so boring if you could actually throw in a 125' approach shot, I could not!
A couple of holes force you to throw a semi-tunnel shot or perhaps put a little anhyser on your shot. The grass is green and lush. And of course, every hole is an ACE in waiting!
Cons:
Too short to challenge over the age of 10.
The hassle of signing a waiver. Do you have to report every time you play?
Natural tee pads are getting enough play that they are creating worn spots in the grass. Most tee areas now have two worn spots, one on each side of tee signs. Putting in some simple patio block tee pads would be better alternative, says I.
Other Thoughts:
The Deerfield DGC is still a fun little throw. You can bet your life if I lived in this neighborhood I'd be here all the time chasing ACES. And the course record, whatever it might be? I'd have to get lucky once in a while.
