Scenic Course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 22, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

Delagoon Park is maintained by the City of Fergus Falls. The city keeps this park clean and well maintained. The terrain is rolling prairie that features one large lake (Pebble Lake) and 5 ponds and marsh areas that surround the ponds. The course meanders around the ponds. There are a total of 27 baskets. For each basket there are two rubber tee pads for short distance and long distance. The baskets are in excellent condition. Most of the course is wide open which allows breezes to be felt on hot days and which hinders mosquitos and other flying insects.

Cons:

The tee pads and basket for #5 are too close to a road. There can be a lot of traffic on the road during times when baseball and softball games are in session. We played on a Thursday afternoon, and there were at least a dozen vehicles that went by as we played #5. Summer weekend traffic could make #5 unplayable or could cause the player to make only soft, short, conservative throws. I mentioned the vast openness of this course with the breezes are a pro during hot summer days, but may turn into a con during cool, cold, and windy days.

Other Thoughts:

The scenery of the park and surrounding countryside is pleasant. The park is located at the edge of town which gives the park a rural feel. Delagoon Park is easy to access from I-94 and is well worth the trip.

Fun And Challenging. I will be back. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 7, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

Most holes had 2 pads to provide for different skill levels.
Great greens. Baskets put right next to trees, slews, on hills make for some very challenging tee shots on some of the shorter holes.
I would imagine this course could be setup as a very difficult tournament.

Cons:

Lots of chances to lose discs in slews. Played in a hurry and for the first time had to take a lot of conservative paths to pins.

Other Thoughts:

I am here on vacation with my family and only had about an hour and a half, so I had to rush through but was able finished all 26 (13 was not ready for play).

Beautiful park, I will definitely be back.

Worth the stop between St. Cloud and Fargo 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 12, 2017 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Baskets look like they could withstand tornados.
sneaky finesse shooting on many holes.
decent elevation change.
the grounds are well maintained. garbage cans everywhere, clean porta johns, snack bar during softball and little league games, boat launch with fishing docks, BBQ'ing, RV camping..
perfect for a beginner looking for more of a challenge without being to intimidating.
hole 26 & hole 27.

Cons:

busy multi-purpose park..that's not necessarily a con but it can be distracting for the holes that run along the roads at times.
not a lot of difficulty for anyone with intermediate+ skills.

Other Thoughts:

money holes are the back 9 . the rest of the course has it's charms that shouldn't be ignored though. bring bug spray. casual play is about a 2 1/2 hour walk. expect to get some exercise. Union Pizza and Brewing and Mabel Murphy's are the after spots in town.
