Pros:
The Dry Canyon Disc Course starts next to the small dog (35 lbs. and lighter) park and then plays behind the large dog park (monsters). The terrain is high desert with small trees and lots of scrub brush which is fairly thick in places. There is a kiosk at the beginning with a course map and a list of the course supporters. Also a picnic table and a donation box. There is a practice basket here, too. The tee pads are nice sized concrete. The signs are small but give you the information you need.
There are two baskets at each hole, one silver and one yellow Discatcher. As previous reviewer JerichoBroncho stated, I wasn't exactly sure what was going on with these. On # 1, the two baskets seemed to be almost the same exact distance, only one on the right and one on the left. Then I thought that the yellow Discatcher was always the longer so I was playing the yellows. But then on # 7, the silver basket was 50 to 60' longer and now, I had no clue as to what was going on here.
Playing the yellows (Maybe?) most holes seemed to be between 300' and 400'. Most were pretty similar, straight with the basket somehow hidden or placed in the Pines somehow. # 5 and 6 felt like the same hole to me. I would have liked to see some variety with the yellows, maybe a 200' Ace run followed by a 500' bomb.
Cons:
Confusing and inconsistent placement of the yellow Discatcher holes.
Lack of variety.
Desert terrain with Sagebrush and other scrub is not the greatest.
Mostly flat.
Would be hot and dusty on some of the hot days here although I had to take cover under the Pines for a brief summer shower. It nicely cooled everything down like watering the infield before a baseball game.
Other Thoughts:
+ This is a solid course. I don't know that adding the second set of baskets was too well thought out. Initially it was confusing for me but then you just end up questioning the plan. If I was a local, I'd play here and I'd also try and get involved and rectify the confusing yellow basket situation.
