    Other info

When I am seeking new courses to visit I lean heavily on DGCR reviews, and usually try to focus on the ones rated 3.5+. I enjoy good use of big elevation changes, fairways that are densely wooded, and playing over or near water.

My reviews may lean more optimistic than a lot of other players. I would rate an average 9 hole course with suitable tees and baskets as a 2.5, or "decent/typical". I have a hard time giving a 9 hole course much higher than 3 discs, or "good". The average 18 hole course is going to have to be very plain or have elements that make parts of it unplayable to be less than 3 discs. Some of the lower ratings are overlapping like "passable" and "reasonable", or "poor" and "bad". I consider very few courses to be bad, so my ratings rarely use the bottom end of the 5 disc scale.

I am over 450 courses played now, with at least one in each state. I have played the most courses in Kansas, followed by Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Missouri and Texas. The next goal is reaching double digit courses played in as many states as I can. Of course I daydream about visiting all of the highest rated courses, as well as ones in other countries.

Respect to Tim G. and all of the members and reviewers on this site who take time to give their insight in order to help others enjoy the game more. Feel free to contact me if you would like to ask questions have critical input on my reviews. I am also happy to meet new people and play some disc golf when possible.

Waller Mill is very underrated, and I'm just not sure why, so it's great to connect with someone of your experience who appreciates it. You have been really blessed to have the opportunity to play disc golf in all 50 states!

I moved from VA to Charlotte NC, and I just recently completed playing every published, playable, and permanent course in NC (~400 courses) too. I'd love to get in a round with you, so please hit me up when you come east again! I also went to high school in VA Beach, so I know that area well too.

I would also love to get back out to KC. In a previous job I used to go out there once per year for work (in Excelsior Springs) so I've played some of the courses like Water Works, Swope, Blue Valley and others. You live in a great area. Is John Theiss still designing courses out there?
Your Waller Mill review is quite good! In Feb 2021 I completed playing every playable course in VA (160+) and Waller Mill is my Favorite course in VA!
When I played there around Christmas it was in great shape. I can see how it would be tough if the grass is getting tall, but it would have to be out of control for me to go with a score that low. I would love to get around D/FW. I've only hit Z Boaz. I know there are a ton of great courses waiting for me there. Tee off and fly freely, brother
i was curious how the course and the baskets were holding up. when i was there it seemed like it might be in the process of becoming forgotten but it was still in decent shape.
i'll definitely let you know if i'm ever headed your way. travel golf is my favorite! if you're in the DFW area i'll show you around and we can talk guitar too.

    cheers!
Thanks you so much for the update of Perry Lake! We are playing there tomorrow (saturday). Please join us! We'll be there after lunch 1:30-2. 4 of us have been playing over 10 years, a couple over 20. I just joined and friended you because of your update. Thanks again!
