Pros:
+ Eagle's Nest is Lancaster's newest course, and is set in the scenic woodlands and fields of Alley Park. When completed, it should be a decent compliment to Flat Rocks.
+ DISCatcher baskets on every hole. It looks like concrete tees are coming eventually, but they are only in on 1 and 2 so far.
+ It's a pretty challenging course compared to Flat Rocks on the other side of town. Steeper elevation and some longer distances and tougher throws.
+ The area is set aside for disc golf only which is pretty sweet. You won't have to worry about pedestrians and such.
+ Nice kiosk with restrooms and a practice basket near the first tee.
Cons:
- In its current state, Eagle's Nest is a 1.5 at best. I hated every second playing here, because it really isn't finished and in a rough state. No signage, no real tees outside of the first few holes. The fairways are rough, and the rough even rougher.
- It's a 1.5ish right now, but I'll bump it up to a 2.5 just because of what it will be in the future. I'm not going to give it a 4 just on potential, because I don't want to mislead anybody.
Other Thoughts:
I guess Concrete tees and signage was supposed to happen in 2017, but hasn't.
I wouldn't recommend playing here until it's finished up. We'll see what kind of course it ends up being in it's finished State, but it's kind of a mess at this point.
At the end of the day, if a course has been open for 2 Years and you're going to advertise it all over the internet, it should be in better shape than this.
