Pros:
-Concrete tees
-Decent variety of holes
-Good map (online)
-9 Hole Loop (Can play either 9 independently)
-Mostly plays around other park activities
Cons:
-Missing some tee signs (#1,2,7 at least)
-Long throws over water (especially the Winnebago River)[#10]
-Not many benches or trash cans (may be more in summer)
-Pars are not realistic (all par 3?)
Other Thoughts:
East Park is a lovely course set in the north park of Mason City, IA. It plays around a large city park. Play is mostly away from other park activities. #5 plays across a stream near the basket, #7 plays across a pond, #9 plays across the stream again, #10 plays across the river. The pond and river shots are too long for novice players, recommend a drop at the other side. My discs took a drink on #5 and #9, but I was able to retrieve them. Some minor elevation changes, but mostly flat. Other than the water issues, a fine course for almost any skill level. The pars could due with being adjusted, all par 3s, whether 175' or 500'+. Would play again if in the area.
