Pros:
(0.334 Rating) (REVISED - replayed December 2020) A family friendly church practice area with 3 baskets.
- UPDATE - A quick note before the pros. I originally rated this course a 0.802, and I barely thought it was a course then. Fast forward two years later, this former course has devolved into a practice area as there are no longer marked tees or markings period.
- BEGINNER FRIENDLY - Very open and forgiving are two things that many newer players appreciate. There's a dense patch of overgrowth along the west boundary of the practice area. No doubt will this course aid in growing the sport by offering church members easy access to learn the game at a beginner and family friendly spot.
- CHAINS - Pretty red, white and blue Veteran baskets. All the baskets are in great shape. Unfortunately, a typical comment when you run out of good things to say.
Cons:
Not a large enough footprint to attract a following.
- ONLY 3 BASKETS - This is no longer a course imo, but rather a large practice area. Nothing here is numbered and thus the only option is to make it up as you go.
- LACK OF CHALLENGE - It's really tough to say without markings. Going basket to basket whether clockwise or counterclockwise, it feels like a Novice level landscape. It's pretty much open except part of the west boundary has a line of trees.
- NATURAL BEAUTY - There are no horrible eyesores, but there is no exotic terrain either. Mostly open fields and one large dry retention pond area. Buildings and parking lots are in view the entire time.
- MAINTENANCE - It was mowed and clean on my first visit, but overgrown with waist high grass around two baskets the second time.
Other Thoughts:
I decided to give Faith a second try. I came in hopeful that there would be upgrades from my first appearance. I envisioned additional baskets, simple tee signs and maybe a bench or two. Nope, nada, no siree. Faith has unfortunately gone the other way. As noted in my original review, Faith Church still has enough land available to add 3 to 6 more baskets, and there's obviously a lot of room for amenities growth. With enough support and investment, this place could easily sport a solid 1.5 or even a 2.0 rating level nine holer. That said, I have no faith in this ever happening.
