Good school course

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 13, 2023 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Located less than a mile from Fayetteville, a great place for food, lodging, and shopping. Discs are available at the Ace Gear shop, Adventure station, and Waterstone if needed.

The concrete teepads are well built and a great surface to tee off on and are on all 9 holes. The Dynamic Disc Patriot Baskets are new and great at catching your discs, I like the size of the basket. A large sign at the edge of the parking lot gives par info and a layout of the course, not to mention detailed signs at every teepad too.

As for the layout its nice, it will challenge intermediate players for sure. Most holes are in the woods, but 2 are at the edge of an open field, which I think is a good mix. Holes in the woods are not far but you don't have a big line to hit right to the basket, takes accuracy to win here. Most are for the most part flat, so you won't be doing much serious walking.

Cons:

Closed from 7-4 on weekdays during the school year, so you can only play from 4-8 on those days.

Hole 4 is very hard hole to par on, you have to hit 2 gaps before getting to the basket outside the grove of trees. I wish they moved it 40 feet closer to the tee or made it 300 feet par 4.

After hole 7 you have a long walk back around the field on a trail to hole 8 or walk back past hole 7 and enter the woods between tee 6 and basket, so that's annoying.

Wish there was more variety on layout.

Other Thoughts:

This is a great course for being a school, when it comes to equipment and wood area, it's the best 9 hole in this area. But after a few rounds the lack of difference (like downhill, uphill, par 4's, etc.) makes it harder to like. But good overall course. I like it about as much as the other 2 9-hole courses in the area. Definitely give this a go.
