Great little course! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 15, 2014 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

-Wonderful view along the Bay
-Well kept course
-Nice professional signs
-Concrete pads
-Free and open to the public
-Discs and scorecards available at the FSU campus library
-Course layout map at 1st tee pad
-No water holes........but water along a couple of fairways which is cool.
-Not a busy course
-Security on patrol at all times, not that they need it.
-Good shade on most holes.
-Great course for aces

Cons:

-Small 18
-Some fairways are too close, but just keep an eye out for other players playing parallel
-A couple of par's are questionable
-No long drives

Other Thoughts:

So happy to have another local course, especially a course that is 18! Course is not tough, a very good beginner course with trees peppered throughout on the 1st nine with a few fairways that run along the coast. The back nine actually runs through the campus, comes around, then back to the water to finish 18 in the middle of the course. The course is mainly par 2's and 3's. THe longest hole on the course, which is the only par 4, could be done in two if a good drive, which is hole 9. Great course for a Birdie Bash and Ace Race. Get there before 8 a.m. and the sprinklers are on. Nicely kept course with both trees, open fairways, sand, grass, water along a couple of fairways. No bomb, grip and rip it drives. Free and open to the public. If you are visiting PCB the course is just across the bridge heading into town. Built at the beginning of this year the FSU staff did a great job getting this course in here in the space they had.
Highly recommended to come and play. The best course of the three in Panama City. Local disc golf club plays on a rotation so you may run into them. They welcome anyone who wants to play with them. So if you and your family come to PCB to enjoy the sun and fun, you can now include a good little disc golf course on your list of things to do.
Now go throw!

Beautiful setting . . . 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 13, 2014 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Those of you who read my reviews know that I am just as interested in the aesthetics as the quality/challenge of the golfing. This course ranks 4.5 on the aesthetics and 3.0 on the golf
- Beautiful bayside setting on the edge of campus!
- New course with clear signage, tee boxes, and
flags
- Still not well known, so not many users
- Lots of Birds and wildlife
- Excellent course for beginners to intermediates
- Water comes into play on several holes
- Clean and well taken care of!
- College course designed for students, but open to the public.

Cons:

- A little rough in spots, but isn't meant for real opening until Apr 2014
- 18 holes squeezed into space for 9 on a normal course
- If it were crowded, you'd have to keep one eye out for flying discs as tee pads and pins are a bit congested in areas
- Very short course except for three holes
- location of 18 pin next to rough concrete brick wall can chew up your disc on a good shot.

Other Thoughts:

A fabulous walk along and through this FSU satellite campus. Challenging for beginners/Intermediates and even fun for advanced players if you pretend your tee shot is your up shot on a long hole. Lots of trees, man made obstacles, low ceilings, and water to practice technical shots and see what your plastic (an you) can do. Spoke with the course builder and he says that the layout is still in progress with concrete pads to go in once the final layout is agreed on. Nice local course and better aesthetics than either of the 9 hole courses in PC.
