Pros:
This course makes up for its lack of distance with a lot of variety, even with only nine holes. Everything you could expect of an ordinary niner are here, and some aspects are better than usual.
No two holes are the same, and every hole has the chance to be a highlight. Holes 1 and 9 are pretty open, there are some scattered trees on most of the rest, plus one tunnel shot. There are a lot of low ceilings, and while it sometimes doesn't matter because the holes are really short, they do teach you to not rely on a wide hyzer to get everywhere - except hole 8, where the optimal line is a wide RHBH/LHFH hyzer.
If you skip holes 4-6, this becomes a fairly decent beginner course. You have a nice 6-hole loop that is relatively stress-free. In some ways, I think that's what this course was designed for - kids playing a short course, with some optional holes added for more experienced players.
Cons:
The "top" of the course is all really short. The trees keep things interesting, but with most holes under 200 feet, the low ceilings won't obstruct shots all that much.
Even for beginners, this doesn't feel like a great course. The woods are pretty thick, so holes 4 and 5 will cause a lot of issues without even being difficult holes in general. Hole 7 is also short but plays across some thick brush - again punishing bad shots without being a hard hole.
There are no tee signs, but that really only matters on hole 4, where you don't really know where you're going. You also might accidentally walk to hole 7's teepad, which is closer to the basket of 3.
The only bomber shot is hole 4, and it doesn't really count as one because the teeshot is blind, and there's woods around the basket.
Other Thoughts:
I would like to see some additional holes added here. The woods near hole 5 has some extra space, as do the areas north of hole 7 and east of hole 2.
The teepads are super small, but I really don't mind. If more holes were added, some of the current holes could stay, but change hole number, meaning no sign to be replaced.
