Decent enough course on a golf pitch and putt 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 10, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

Decent Baskets
Nice Tees
Beautifully Looked after
Couple of very nice holes
Baskets placed to encourage different shots (although a straight putter backhand will attack most of them)

Cons:

On the higher side of the pricing spectrum and just on the cusp of whether it's value for money considering the time it would take to play. I tend to look at a metric of £5 an hour as a fair cost. 18 will take about 1 hour to play so it's borderline
Short in the main

Other Thoughts:

Overall a decent little course and beautifully looked after.

Good introduction course for new players although there is water in play. The water won't be a factor to an experienced player but will definitely affect newer players.

Fun enough if you're in the area although mainly lacking in challenge even using greens and bunkers as OB areas. Going straight at the baskets and making sure you ace run each takes most of the danger out apart from maybe one hole where the green is to the side.

Pitch & putt 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 3, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

Setting: This course is run & maintained by a professional Golf Club. The grass is manicured, the bushes are trimmed and the Tee's maintained. You will be hard pushed to find a blade of grass out of place.

Tees: Astro turf. None slip and good for grip.

Water: Only really comes into play on one hole but with the fountains going you are always aware it's there. A nice addition as some courses would stay away due to their own risk assessment and worries of players falling in.

Cons:

Cost: £8 for 9 holes and £10 for 18 is a bit steep, however if you remember that you are on a championship standard golf facility, you begin to understand that they want to make money on something new. The club pro was interested in bringing in a discount for instance with a pdga card but nothing is agreed yet.

Course share: during your round, you will share the course with Footgolf & Ball Golf. Always to aware of incoming objects!

Other Thoughts:

All the holes are relatively short with limited height gain.

Hole 1 - A short hole, slightly down hill.

Hole 2 - Navigation from hole 1 can be awkward, from the last basket walk to the right of the large tree and follow the hedge, you will find a cut through to the 2nd tee. A slightly longer Hole, the basket is set close to a lake so try not to go too far right.

Hole 3 - A tight tunnel tee shot, with a large bunker to the right. The basket is set on a ridge.

Hole 4 - Signiture hole in the course. The hole plays over a lake to an elevated basket. Quite awkward with a cross wind.

Hole 5 - first of the long holes. Nice and straight, the basket is guarded by a large tree.

Hole 6 - Carbon copy of hole 5, except the basket is elevated on a mound.

Hole 7 - Nice dogleg hole which follows the boundary of the course to the left. Try not to over throw into the bushes as there is OB guarding the public footpath.

Hole 8 - A short but deceptively tough hole. Uphill tee shot to a basket with is heavily protected. If you land short of the basket expect you disc to roll into the bunker.

Hole 9 - The orchard hole. This hole plays through a pear orchard. I was lucky enough to play as the fruit was falling. Watch your head, but also up your footing!

As I have said before this course is shared with ball golf. I played all greens and bunkers OB to avoid them but also to make the course harder
