Pros:

The 1st thing that caught my attention was the piece of property that this course is laid out on. Words don't due it any justice, but it's nothing short of phenomenal. You just don't see courses like this in the South, especially in "SN Country". The course designer does a great job of using of all the amazing natural elements that are available, without overdoing things or duplicating shots. New concrete tee pads were installed prior to my playing the course & they're super nice. For a young course, it's definitely headed in the right direction & in the hands of the right people to make sure that continues.

Cons:

As with "newish" courses, it's little things that normally get looked over in the beginning to insure the big things get taken care of first. My biggest complaint, especially playing the course for the first time blind, was the absence of any kind of signage. A course map, even in digital form, would've been a great help, but more importantly was the need for tee signs. With the course measuring in at 7000'+ it was impossible to walk every fairway to get a quick read on the hole, which left me taking someone else's word on how the hole played. My 2nd suggestion would be to have a "first cut" just off the fairway, because the grass out there is taller than me (6'2") in places & super thick. Multiple cards were held up looking for discs that were just a few feet off the fairway. Which brings up a suggestion for future tournaments played here.. Spotters! I think you gotta have spotters in a few places (Hole 2 for sure) to help things move along smoothly. With these additions & the natural progression of course development over time, I could see this course being as close to "perfect" as any course I've personally played on.

Other Thoughts:

This course may be the biggest secret in the South. When you're playing on it, you forget you in a small town in Mississippi. With talks of another course being installed right next to this one & a shorter technical course just across the street, there's a great opportunity to host some large events here. I'd be interested in seeing what some of the bigger names in our sport would score on this course. If SNPC isn't being played here in the next 3-5 years, then something's wrong. I can't wait to come back & play it again in April!
