Interesting conversion of a golf course. 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 14, 2017 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Pretty nice mix of wooded and open shot holes. A lot of jackrabbits running around so that's nice. The long shots allow for some serious bombers and the short ones allow for fun touch shots. Lake in the middle provides for an over-water shot and keeps you from getting too crazy.

Cons:

-Two holes play way too close to water on both sides. I really just skip them as the course always has a strong south wind so your either throwing into a headwind or a tailwind from these baskets. Haven't lost a disc yet but have come too close every time. Just not fun holes.
-Course could be mowed a lot better and more often. High grass all the time, everywhere.
-Pars need to be fixed. Far too many par 3's and the course could use one or two more par 4's and a par 5...maybe.

Other Thoughts:

Course used to be a golf course but doesn't play like a golf course.

Rough is real rough 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jun 16, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

Potential to be a really nice course. Good baskets. 2 nice concrete tee pads on every hole. If you are tired of playing daffodil and have good control of your disc this will be a nice challenge. Good parking, portopotties.

Cons:

Rough is beyond punishing. 3-6' tall thick grass. Holes are all very long (not convinced the distances are correct). Considering this course was built to help get more people involved in disc golf it is way too hard. Because there are so many blind corners on long holes with the rough being so thick and tall I lost two discs. I really enjoy playing but new people would lose a disc or two and want to quit playing.

Other Thoughts:

The course is great if you are pro or a very high ranking am. For once a week players or new players it's going to eat you for lunch. If the city would keep the rough trimmed better it could get a 4-5 from me. It got such a bad review from me because it was designed to bring more people to the game, not run them crying and broke away.
