Pros:
(0.584 Rating) Probably the worst course I've ever played, but not my worst experience.
- ACEABILITY - One of a few highlights I had here was aceing hole (2) on my second time threw. All of the holes are highly aceable and an average rec player should probably get an ace in less than fifty rounds or so.
- QUICK PLAY - A single should easily complete a full 9 in twenty minutes. Groups of 4 should probably finish in under 45 minutes.
- FORGIVENESS - The odds of losing a disc due to an errant shot is near impossible unless you leave one behind on accident.
- BIGGINER FRIENDLY - No overgrowth, no hazards and short holes, thus good for beginners.
Cons:
Numerous and significant cons with Heritage Park FGC.
- BASKETS - Hands down the worst baskets I've played on. They appear to be custom made and are just a little step up from targets. Discs that land in the basket with sometimes fall on edge to the sheet steel base and then roll up and over the lip of the basket. The lip of the basket is only 3 inches high.
- TEES - There are three hexagonal pavers to mark the tee areas. A wonderful tripping hazard. I teed to the side of them. In addition, holes (6) and (7) were missing the pavers.
- BASKET AND TEE SEPERATION - At just about every hole, the basket and next tee are perilously close. Usually they are separated by less than 30 feet.
- CHARACTER - Almost non-existent. To start, there is almost no tee shading, no seating, no practice basket, no shelter, no extra tees and no just about everything. I did however observe three hole # signs and there's a course map by hole (1) which made navigation a breeze.
- UNIQUENESS - This course scores out as the least unique I've ever played. No elevation, no water features, no skip plays, all par 3s, all short and straight putter runs.
- DIFFICULTY - Way too short for everyone but beginners and rec players. Many seasoned players will come away dissatisfied if they don't shoot 8 or 9 down.
- RAW BEAUTY - Other than a couple of nice oaks, there's nothing eye catching on the vegetation side. As for water and topographic features... nope and nope.
- WIND - Due to the lack of trees, wind will likely be a major issue.
Other Thoughts:
As of this review, my second lowest scored course. Heritage really should only be played by those who live in town, course baggers, and for reviewers needing to see what a bad course looks like. Normally for short courses similar to Hertiage Park FGC, I'll make a pro comment for "Grow the Sport." This course however, probably won't provide that type of help
