Small Town Course 2+ years

Other Thoughts:

Chained Evil did a nice job of summarizing the course so I won't add much. Just be sure to read his review.

The course has been here since at least 2004 and was built by a student for a high school project. His father was into the sport as well and helped him make the baskets and design the course.

Hole 1: probably could play parking lot OB which means there is a big right bend just before hole

Hole 2: basket at corner of building

Hole 3: trees along right edge, playground along left edge, narrow opening

Hole 4: trees along right edge

Hole 5: pretty wide open until you get close to the basket with bleachers on the left, then a tree and it is up against a building: Be aware of people

Hole 6: a blind shot because of a shed in the way, sits right next to a baseball field with a road on the other side which could easily be made OB

Hole 7: no really any danger there, road off to the right a little bit, have to throw over the corner of a fence, sits kind of in a corner of two roads but is far enough in not to be a real concern

Hole 8: mature trees along the right edge, baseball field on the left edge, could be a bit tight

Hole 9: baskets don't catch real well, 9 chains, plastic feed basket for catcher, reminds me of that skinny basket you can buy to sharpen your putting skills

Baskets are dicey 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 17, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is a recreational course set in a small town that plays around an old high school playground, baseball field, and school buildings.
Disc loss should be close to nill here.
This is a good place to work on your midrange game or a good place to learn the game if you can get past the baskets(more on that later).
The course was well maintained and there was a playground here too. Rounds should play quickly.
The flow is logical.
Hole observations:
Hole 1-slightly uphill
Hole 2-slightly downhill
Holes 3 and 4-moderate length and open
Holes 5-7 shorter in length and open
Hole 8 is a bit of a tunnel shot and has a low ceiling with moderate length---IMO this is the best hole here
Hole 9-short and open

Cons:

The baskets are homemade and have rubber feed tubs at the bottom to catch the disc. The tubs needed to be the bigger size as a good putt had a 50/50 chance of staying in the tub even though you had clearly made the shot. Aces would be very rare IMO because of this.
Also 5's basket was pretty close to the bleachers. I don't think the baseball/softball field gets a lot of play but this hole might be unplayable depending on the time of the year.
Also I never found the stone markers for 1 or 6 so I threw from where I thought seemed logical.

Other Thoughts:

This is a course that if you were in town visiting your relatives or passing through you might stop at to pass the time. There were some decent shots here and it was fun to run at the chains on a few of the holes. The problem was if you got close was it going to stick.
I'm sure this course serves the purpose it was designed for, the beginner/novice player, but for someone with more experience this course misses the mark.
If you are looking for a 4 star course then you will have to keep traveling. If you are passing through and need a quick 9 and are curious then you can give this course a play.
