Really Short, No Distance Markers 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 12, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

* Really nice baskets
* Well maintained park
* Nearish to Christchurch city center

Cons:

* Hard to navigate
* Missing Teepad on #14?
* Very short. Some holes have 'no step' which is interesting a few times but not for 9+ holes. It's more an attempt to overcome the shortness of the course. Any experienced disc golfer will have a chance for easy birdie on just about every hole.
* No distance markers on any of the holes or tee signs
* Mix of tee pads in the grass and painted on lines on pavement.
* Repetitive holes. Most were pretty straight with the only variation coming with the creek in play. Total missed opportunity to have a shot over the water. Only 'legit' disc golf hole was #7 and that was only due to the 'tunnel' created by the trees.

Other Thoughts:

The course is quite flat and the hole variation is minimal. There was some good opportunities for some interesting holes but it was very conservative in its design. It's an ok 'pitch and putt' course but I wouldn't go out of your way to come and play this if you were traveling. When I think of disc golf in New Zealand, this course falls flat.
