This was a great find in Medicine Hat as I drove along the Trans-Canada highway. The course design makes solid use of the limited space and there's decent variety in hole layout to make for a short but fun round.
I wasn't particularly fond of holes 1 and 3, which are both basically long tunnel shots down the sides of the park. Other holes, like hole 8, were more interesting where the basket was tucked up near some trees with both a forehand and backhand route available.
Three tee locations work out quite nicely. There's a noticeable difference between the red and blue tees in terms of shot difficulty, and the white tees provide a nice middle ground. I played off the blue tees and played terribly, but probably would have played poorly from the red tees too
The baskets are non-standard, with very large cages at the bottom and a (cute) golf-ball shaped dome on top. I missed several putts either by chaining out or clanking against the bottom cage. An upgrade to more standard-size/design baskets would be a nice touch.
There are no hole signs at the tees, but each tee is marked in the ground. Grab a printed course map from the mailbox on the course sign near hole one and you'll have no trouble finding your way around.
I can see how if you play this course a few times you'd come up with your own alternate set of tees to make this a full 18.
If you are on a road trip and have discs in the car it's totally a worthwhile stop to stretch your legs.
