Pros:
+ It's cool that there are two 9 hole courses on site. The land on the east side (this course) is a little better suited for disc golf. It's a little bit hillier and, for the most part, away from roads. It's also a bit longer, adding to the challenge a little bit.
+ Great condition baskets, but I'm not sure they get much use. I think this course is going to be totally empty the majority of the time.
+ Flow is very intuitive from basket to the next tee. Walks are pretty short.
+ Very little risk of losing a disc as there are no water hazards or thick rough. Park was clean & maintained.
Cons:
- The hole information was spray painted on to the rubber mats that serve as tees several years ago. Since then, the paint has washed away and it's difficult to know which hole # we were on or what the distance or. We were able to discern which way to tee off though.
- Not particularly interesting. The city of Boscobel itself is surrounded by rolling hills and woods but the course doesn't take advantage of these features. Rather, it's on the grounds of a school surrounded by playground equipment.
- The course starts in the middle of the park (by the restrooms), not by a parking lot, which I thought was awkward and confusing.
Other Thoughts:
If you're interested in increasing your course count, this is a great little place to bag 2 in between Richland Center and Fennimore, which are both substantially more interesting and fun than Boscobel. I don't foresee myself ever returning to this course or Boscobel.
