Another Nice Addition to the State Park Scene! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 24, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

The new 18-hole course at Lake Milton State Park is the newest addition to the Ohio State Park system. It's not overly challenging, but it's still a very solid 18-hole course with a few top-tier holes.

+ The full course is only a few days old, but playing it, you would think it's been around for years. The fairways are in great shape, the tees are concrete, and there are permanent signs on every hole. It's ready to play!

+ This area doesn't have a ton of elevation, but the design takes advantage when the opportunity presents itself. #15, my favorite hole on the course, plays along a gentle hillside that slopes down toward the lake. #13's basket is located at the bottom of a steep drop off. There are several other holes with tricky placements.

+ I enjoyed the back 9 more than the front, especially the stretch from 14 to 18. Creeks and the lake come into play on each of these holes, some more noticeably than others.

+ It's easy to navigate. A few areas where you have to cross the road might get a little tricky, but the signs next to most baskets help guide the way.

Cons:

- I wish we got some more water holes sprinkled throughout the course rather than throwing them all at the end.

- A few holes tend to blend together at times. Flat and heavily wooded with a similar hole shape.

- No chance to really air it out here. All but one hole is under 400 feet, and even the longer holes are still heavily wooded.

Other Thoughts:

Having a beautiful state park system like Ohio does is already a blessing. Adding disc golf to many of these parks makes them that much more appealing.

Come on out and enjoy some heavily wooded lakeside disc golf!
