Nice lakeside view 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 23, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

Newly installed tee pads with the distances on the pad itself are very nice and allow for a proper run up.
All shots are accounted for here dog leg left and right, uphill and downhill as well.
A good mix of short, moderate, and a couple longer holes as well.
The flow is logical and rounds should play quickly here.
There is a bit of a water threat on holes like 7, 9, and 14 which add to the pucker factor a bit. Nothing that should scare you away by any means.
There are a few holes where you can grip and rip a drive or two, hole 3 and 4 come to mind here.
My favorite hole was hole 14 that played slightly downhill with the basket semi protected and it was a dog leg right.

Cons:

Mostly open on a few holes and when it is windy there won't be much protection.
Being as a few holes are open there won't be much shade on those hot summers days.
Some will complain that there aren't any benches but thats being nit picky IMO.

Other Thoughts:

Overall I think this is a good entry to intermediate level style course. Outside of the holes that play next/close to the water disc loss should be low here. Its a course that is good for developing skills that are needed for an overall game. A more advanced level of player might find the holes too short or bland but IMO they could still use this course to get better on upshots or possibly safari action if they were needing a change of pace.
For what appears to be the target audience I think this course serves its purpose. It will challenge but not frustrate and its good to see more courses installed in this area.

Another Good Local Option 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jan 26, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

-The tee pads are awesome. Probably the best of all the courses within 25 miles.
-The tee signs are embedded in the boxes, so little chance of vandalism.
-Beginner friendly course.
-Lake wind adds a bit of difficulty.
-Very nice brand new goals that are in fantastic shape.

Cons:

-Only five technically challenging holes. The rest are very beginner friendly.
-There is not much to work with for obstruction in the park, but I think some obstructions could have been better utilized in goal positioning.

Other Thoughts:

This course fills a void in the area by providing a nice little course for locals to play. It complements the Flightline course well.

The 1st three holes are very well laid out in my opinion, and make a great initial impression of the course, but the shots really open up afterward, and except for 1 or 2 holes later, it is mostly wide open until the finish. I liked hole 14 the best. That was a tough little hole to birdie.

I think the idea for the tee signs in the tee pads is great. Only downside to this tee sign approach is you can never change the goal locations, but if you don't plan to, that works great.

I don't see this being a destination course, but it fills in nicely as a great option for beginners to learn on, and veterans to get reps. If you are staying locally, go play! You will have a good time.

3/28/18: I hear they completed the install of tee boxes, so I bumped this up to a simliar level as Broadlawn in Ardmore. They are comparable.

6/15/18: They added a welcome sign today.

Really fun tees could be imporoved 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 14, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

Some interesting shots. For a small town this is a pretty good course.
By the water but no danger of disc loss.
Good baskets.
Good layout for space provided.

Cons:

Tees are just orange paint in grass.
I think with 10 bucks for neon ties and orange painted boards they could be easier to find for sure.

Other Thoughts:

Tee 1 is RIGHT WHEN YOU ENTER PARK near white skeleton of bulletin board
