Calgary's Best!!! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 9, 2015 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Lloyd Park is a great disc golf course. I have played most of the Calgary courses and do believe that this is truly the best course in Calgary, and here is why....

1. I have use every shot in my arsenal! Well maybe not the tomahawk, if I play smart. I am a Lefty and I have to use both BH and FH shots off the tee's. I also have to use the anny line on some holes for that gentle fade!

2. I have to use every disc in my bag. Some tee's require a nice S-curve to get to the basket for a birdie, some require an good Hyzer, and some require a shot strain up the middle.

3. There is a nice variety of hole distances! Every time I come up to the tee I don't feel like I'm in the Matrix (deja vu), unlike like some courses, where it is often the same flight path and same distance.

4. Location! Location! Location! The scenery is beautiful and often uninterrupted! I like the location of Baker DGC, but it's always busy! However, Lloyd park is usually not very busy, and as a result I don't feel rushed and get alot more enjoyment out of a round! I think the $5 day pass and the $20 year help keep it this way, not to mention the great facilities that come with it.

5. This course works well for all skill levels because it is open enough to see and find errant shots, but good shot placement is rewarded!! There is more more that I could say, but all in all I love this course, and that CDGA has done a great job at making it challenging and fun.

Cons:

The only cons I have about the course is that it is not done yet. I'm not sure what the timeline is but I'm fairly certain they plan to do the following.

1. New baskets
2. Better signage

Other Thoughts:

I know I gave this course 5 stars and it is not complete, but I feel that as it stands now it's is one of the best courses I've ever played (I've played about 20). When they put in the new baskets and better signage it will be the cherry on top!! It's a must play for anyone coming to play in the Calgary area!!
