Pros:
I played this course 5 times during the period of 7-24-2020 to 8-2-2020. Long Lake Park is located inside of the city limits of Detroit Lakes. The city does a fine job with keeping the park clean and mowed. This course has 9 baskets, but there are 2 cement tees for each basket to enable a player to play an 18 hole game. From what I observed, the cement for the 2nd tee for each basket was laid during the summer of 2020 because there was dirt with new sprouts of grass surrounding those tees. The course seemed to have an easy flow which enabled an entire 18 hole game to be played in an hour. There are no water hazards or dense brush hazards to cause a lost disc.
Cons:
There is a parking lot located midway between the 2 tees and basket for hole #2, which is also serves as hole #11. In the event that a vehicle is parked in the lot, players will likely find that the vehicle does interfere with the game. Of the 5 games that I played at this course in the year 2020, there were 2 games where vehicles were parked in the lot, but on both occasions the driver immediately moved their vehicles as our party approached the tee.
Other Thoughts:
Long Lake Park is located in the city limits of Detroit Lakes and is considered a city park. The park is sandwiched between Long Lake and the Detroit Lakes airport. The airport makes this course unique, as players can watch planes take off and land while playing the game. I look forward to additional visits to this course during the coming years when I visit family and friends in Minnesota in future years.
