#6 is a really good looking and fun hole.
#9 finishes back right near #1.

Campus roads are used for fairways on 5 of the holes.
Tee markers are paving stones, on the ground, so some are a little tough to spot.
Tees are mostly natural, some are concrete, where available nearby.

Corporate campus course here in the Triangle area. Intended for use by LORD Corp employees and guests only, I played on a winter afternoon and was never approached.

I got the feel as I was playing this course, that the corporate overLORD types that were gracious to allow a course on their campus, added the stipulation that no (or very few) trees would be cut down to install the course. Because of that, over half of the holes use campus roads as a major part of the fairway:
#1,2,3 - starting behind a campus building, these are all pretty much the same, tee off beside the road, to a basket usually just a few feet off the road. There is some grass on the shoulder of the road, but usually not much. The good thing on these three holes is that the road just leads to the backside of this building, so probably doesn't get much traffic.
#5 - basically an island green, you have to throw over a small intersection, so pretty manageable.
#9 - probably the biggest issue here, and the hole you see as you drive onto the campus. This appears to be a pretty busy road ... and the basket is just a few feet off that road.
There does appear to be plenty of unused space on the campus for wooded holes, hillside above 1,2 and 3, and the entire wooded valley between the two sides of the course (between 1-4 and 5-9). So, for speed and ease of installation, and the use of roadways, I'm guessing there were restrictions on the layout of this course.

Two of the holes fit in very well on this course and were fun to play:
#6 - concrete tee on a sidewalk/parking lot, across beautiful grass that drops down, then back up, with a light pole right in the middle (in front of the tee), so you have to choose left or right.
#8 - short, downhill ace run around large old growth tees.

I think it would be great to have a course right on your work campus, so kudos to those who gave the greenlight for this course.

The course at LORD Corp. is a nice little perk for employees and friends of the company! I've played a number of corporate campus tracks in the Triangle and LORD is a solid entry. As far as enjoyment in playing the course, it's right up there with the next corporate 9-holer in town (SAS). I ding it for safety, but it's worth checking out if you have an "in" to play here.

1. IBM - 3.0 (only 18-hole track of the bunch)
2. SAS - 2.0
3. LORD - 1.5
4. RTI - 1.5
5. Cisco - 1.0 (aka Marcom Woods)
6. Lenovo - 1.0

+ Nice distance and shot variety to make it a notch above the typical 9-hole and/or corporate campus course

+ Easy navigation along roads and paths on the campus

+ New baskets

+ Peaceful setting! I saw about a dozen deer grazing by the first basket. They didn't seem too concerned about me. Despite being an "urban campus" course, it's very quiet. Mature forest, good landscaping, etc.

+ Clean and well maintained

+ Brick tee markers

While I enjoyed a quick round here, I caution that this course uses low-traffic roads and paths to form most of its fairways. It doesn't look like any trees were sacrificed to build this course. They just put the baskets in open areas near roads, paths, and parking lots. I'll say that the roads are just on-campus ones and not heavily trafficked, but be aware before you throw!

- Natural tees areas...very slick if not flooded after rain

- No navigation signs or hole info

- Only 9 holes

- As far as challenge go, probably in between a Rec and Intermediate level course.
