Short, pretty park course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:May 26, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

-9 well mounted yellow Frolf Ware baskets all in good condition with hole number plates on top.
-Course map right at the parking lot.
-Nice full color tee signs with hole number, par, distance and very basic hold graphics.
-Disc golf specific space as the main parks, Island and Pioneer, are across the street.
-Fun shot shaping through pretty, mature trees. Some holes with multiple options for lines and others that force more specific throws. Hole 7 is the only wide open hole and at 123' it makes for a fun change of pace ace run after shaping shots for the first 6 holes.
-Quick play that's not too far off(10 minutes) the main highway between Fargo and Grand Forks.
-Well cared for and maintained park.
-Free to play.

Cons:

-Not a ton of distance variety and challenge. Holes range from 123'-266'. Great for beginners and casuals but more avid/skilled players would likely prefer a touch more variety and difficulty.
-No tee boxes, just the tee signs and grass. Not a huge con as the ground is flat and grass well mowed but tee surface is almost always better than not.
-Pretty well flat piece of land. Not the courses fault but I sure prefer elevation changes on courses.
-Holes are touch crowded. Guessing this place rarely see a high level of traffic but if it did one would have to be aware of their fellow golfers.
-The number plates don't all face back at the tees. With the course in a small space you can see multiple baskets from a number of tees so it would be really helpful if they'd lined them up better.

Other Thoughts:

A really fine small town rec course. Not a ton of mystery here with the consistently short holes lengths but the plethora of mature trees helps create a decently fun little spin. The town does a great job taking care of their park areas and it shows in this little course. Beginners will enjoy the challenge from the line shaping and more advanced golfers will enjoy the ace runs in a mellow, pretty, off the beaten path park course. Not one I'd likely return to but not one to skip if you're in the area and bagging as it's a straight shot off the interstate down the small highway and back.
