Pros:

When I've got disc golf on the brain, and I'm road tripping around the country, sometimes my mind wanders, and I start looking at the surrounding scenery, and I find some wonderful park or vista, and imagine how cool that spot would be for a disc golf course. Well, I was traveling from Northwest Arkansas to Texarkana through some absolutely beautiful parts of Ouchita National Forest, and I kept having that feeling that every place I saw along the way would make a wonderful disc golf course. Just as I was thinking that, all of a sudden, on a hill on the side of the road, a basket appeared! That was how I first stumbled upon the existence of the Lion's Club course, and immediately added it to my wish list on DGCR. On my next trip through, I decided to stop in and give the course a try. And I was thoroughly impressed!
Pro's:
The biggest pro of this course is that it is absolutely gorgeous. Seriously, if you are like me and enjoy disc golf because you get to travel to beautiful parks and landscapes across this great land and convene with nature, this course is for you. The Lions have made fantastic use of this property. The rolling hills and tall trees make for some lovely vistas.
Great variety of shots required. Lots of variation in distance, elevation change, open vs wooded, and right/left. The course begins with a series of pretty short 180-250 ft range holes. The back 9 really opens up with some longer shots.
Good use of mando trees to create some tricky shots.
Baskets in good condition
Sign right as you arrive in the park.
Each hole has a well-marked sign
Moderately challenging, especially for beginner/intermediate players. I actually think this course offers a lot to players of all skill levels.
Not really a ton of opportunities for discs to get lost. Plenty of trees, but not a ton of brush in most places. Exceptions, I think are holes 10-11, where there is a bit of bramble you could get caught up in, and an OB pond.

Cons:

This course is not without its minor annoyances.
I didn't see a sign for hole 1 (just the course map) so it was a bit hard to tell that the first teepad was for 1.
Lots of holes you had to walk pretty far ahead to put your eyes on the basket.
Not the most intuitive walking layout. There's a big gap between hole 9 and 10, and you have to cross over the fairway back by the club house to get to 10's tee.
A few holes (I'm thinking 4 & 12, and 6 & 16?) shared fairways, and if you're not paying attention to which basket is which, you might end up shooting for the wrong basket.
Only hole 1 has a concrete teepad, the rest are marked off natural pads. The white teepad markers (long) were pretty easy to find.
The only other person who was there when I was there was an older gentleman out working on the landscaping. I struck up a conversation with him, and he told me that it had recently gotten very wet and washed over many of the red teepad markers.
I saw that the course is advertised as very cart friendly. I would modify that to say that the court is moderately cart friendly. I used my backpack cart and got through the round fine, but there was definitely some rough terrain and lots of elevation change, so be prepared to do some serious hauling and have your cart fall over at least once.

Other Thoughts:

If you're ever passing through this part of Arkansas, don't hesitate to stop at this course. Something for all skill levels to love. Really fantastic use of this gorgeous property. This is a beautiful course and I am definitely going to play it again next time I am through the area.
