Pros:

Merema DGC is named after the designer. It's located at Milledgeville High School. On Udisc it says it's at Mill Wheel Park. For all practical purposes it's at the high school, not sure were the park starts or ends.

The course has Innova Discatchers that are all in decent shape and caught good. One basket and pin placement per hole.

The tees are natural. Nothing wrong with these. All are at least level and with the distances here serve their purpose just fine. One tee location per hole, though you could easily just tee off from anywhere if you wanted to shorten or lengthen any of the holes for some some reason.

Basic metal tee signs with the hole #, par and distance. These are most useful for locating the intended tee area.

The flow of the course is pretty straightforward. A map will cut out any confusion early on but isn't necessary by any means.

The course has some decent length for a nine holer by a school. Most holes are in the 300's with a few under that. The winds can get pretty nasty out here with the openness of farm fields bordering the course. It certainly was when we played it. They incorporate trees on a few holes to add to the challenge but the course generally plays mostly open.

The course starts and ends pretty close to the parking lot and was nicely mowed and clean when we visited. Free to play as well.

Cons:

A little confusing with there being no hole maps early on. Hole 3 isn't obvious with there being three baskets visible from the tee. A map will square this away quickly though. FYI hole 3 plays to the basket due east, with hole 4 then heading north along the edge of the field. From there it's seamless flow.

The signs had two par 2's which I'm not a fan of. Especially being over 200'. Let's stick to par 3 thru 5.

There's potential for lost discs if you end up in the fields along the outskirts of the park, especially if the crops are fully grown. If they plant corn in one of these and you lose control of a shot good luck finding your disc.

The course is in the middle of nowhere IL. There's a few other courses nearby but it'll take you awhile to get here from any major route unless you specifically intend to play this one.

Other Thoughts:

Pretty bland course. Nice to have right behind the school for the students. For traveling players like myself there's just nothing real exciting here. Definitely no replay value but at least it's a quick play if you do decide to visit here.

Play it if you must but there's better options not too far away.

Pros:

- Nice open community park with ball diamonds, restrooms, and playground equipment. Pretty well the whole park is visible from any part of the course.
- Innova DSICatchers that are in good shape, and installed nicely.
- Signage at every tee box, with course par and distance.
- Generally good flow around the course, as it plays out and around the skirts of the park.
- Fair distance variation for a 9 hole course.
- #7 - Decent hole with the basket tucked up under some mature trees, with a pretty low green ceiling. L-R flick was sufficient for me, but a R-L RHBH would be quite the challenge to slide close into the hole.
- #8 - Probably the coolest looking hole on the course. Guarded tee box with a basket tucked tight in next to a tree line. Not the hardest of holes, but longer and good aesthetics.

Cons:

- While the course is generally around the outskirts of the park, there's plenty of unfortunate overlap. Holes #2, #6, and #9 play along or across the outer fences of ball diamonds. Probably just shouldn't play during a ball game or practice.
- Some tee signs are installed oddly, with the sign facing at right angles to the hole, instead of facing in the traditional manner we're used to. Makes navigation tough at first, and I had to refer to the map.
- Course par is also a little odd, with a couple of long Par 2's included.
- Generally a lot of wide open field holes, that aren't interesting.
- #9 - Tight fairway without great lines to the basket. Avoid the corn field to the right and the ball diamond to the left, which can't be seen from the tee.

Other Thoughts:

- I really hope the PE classes at the school get good use out of this course, because it's perfect for that! Hopefully they're introducing people to the sport.
- All in all a fair recreational/beginner course, that falls in line with my other 1.0 rated courses.
