Pros:

Water is in play for about half of the holes on the course and the circular path that runs through Mormon Coulee Park can also be used to designate OB, which adds some challenge to this mostly open course. Variety of tree age and species types will make this a fun course in a few years when a few more of the trees grow in. There are a few dynamic putting greens on the course, which mostly consist of either a few trees or sloped greens. It's rumored that concrete tee-pads will be installed next spring.

Cons:

Fairly open course that plays through a multi-use park. Many walkers on this course, although some took notice of disc golfers. An open player should be able to birdie every hole on this course, although since a few are around 400ft amateurs will still find some challenge. The signage is dissapointing, as there are old stakes that designated a prior target course. The tee-pads are grippy compared to other rubber pads I have played on before, including when wet. Hole 1 tee-pad has a tear in it already.

Other Thoughts:

It's awesome to have a greater variety of courses around the area of La Crosse, even if it is a fairly straight forward 9 hole course. The water is not as threatening as Twin Creeks in nearby Hokah, MN but it will still come into play, especially when wind rolls across the park. This course is hands down better than Rowe Park, and possibly better than Pettibone Park (although Pettibone is certainly more forested).
