What a load of crap

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 24, 2024 Played the course:once

Pros:

Has a couple of tee signs
has numbered baskets
clean bathrooms that were open (Thankfully)

Cons:

Crossing fairways
ridiculous holes
NOT safe for other park users

Other Thoughts:

Ok, I am going to stand behind my title, this course is a load of crap and giving it 1 star is being generous.

Lets start with hole 1. The only basket you see from the tee area IS hole 9's basket. The basket you are actually throwing to is around the end of the tennis course. Yep, you have a walking path and basket for another hole on your left and some very nice tennis courts on the right.

Hole 2 Ug, you are throwing over the sidewalk and over a small valley to the pin. BUT there is a small pavilion in the fairway. This is a small amphitheater with benches on the fairway.

Hole 3 Well, the tee area is in circle 2 of hole 2's basket. The shot is simple enough over and down a small hill with plenty of large pine trees to navigate.

Hole 4, OMG, you are literally throwing from one side of the park to the other. Not only over #3's tee box, but over #2's basket and #6's basket and even near hole 7's tee box. I mean if you are trying to play a round with anyone else on the course, this area is HORRIBLE.

Why the HECK was the tee sign for hole 5 attached to the tee post of hole 7? I was confused at first.

Hole 5, might be the best hole as far as safety, but its not totally in the clear, not only are you throwing over a sidewalk. To the left is a small parking area and if you throw the RHFH shot, you are throwing OVER the tee area of hole 6.

And hole 6....... I guess you throw from the sidewalk? But you do throw OVER hole 7's tee area and the basket for hole 2 is too close to 7's basket in my opinion. (edge of circle 2)

Hole 7 - Well, you are teeing off from 6's fairway, OVER hole 2's fairway. Actually, the basket for hole 2 is to the right of your fairway. There is a walking path to the left if you right hand hyzer out.

Hole 8, on my, The fairway is DOWN the walking path, OVER hole 9's tee box with a building to the right and a small parking area. I actually hit one of the posts for the parking area and landed in the tee area of hole 9 for a circle 2 putt. Yep. (Look at the pic, my cart is where my drive landed)

Then there is hole 9. Another long hole throwing from 8's fairway with playground equipment to the left. There were kids in the playground the WHOLE time I was playing. But if you look at the pictures, you will see not only the kids in the swing set, but to the right is some PAR equipment and a pavilion. Lucky for me, I turned my disc over to avoid the kids but threw right over the table in the pavilion. Oh, did I mention you tee over over a sidewalk and then the baskets is down a path an over another path. If anyone is walking, this hole is tough to play.

I will say this much, the building on hole 8 and most of the side walks look new. Not sure when they put in the playground equipment, but this course needs a MAJOR over hall, it's a disaster waiting to happen.

At least the restrooms were open and clean, that was worth the 1 star by itself.

Would I play here again? Heck no.

Pros:

Ease of access: Very well kept, beautiful park. Restrooms available.
Resourcefulness: Due to it's small size the course is compact but uses the available terrain well.
Beginner friendly: This is a great course for a new player while offering enough of a challenge to make for a nice casual round for any seasoned player.

Cons:

Compact: Due to the small nature of the park some fairways overlap one another. Some baskets a relatively close to each other (2,6) which can be confusing to a visitor. Most tee pads are close to previous baskets or close to another hole's fairway.
Can be slightly crowded: It's never too crowded to not throw but can be enough to wait for walkers to pass by. The park is mostly populated in the evenings after school.

Other Thoughts:

This is a nice easy break that anyone at any level can enjoy. It is an extremely casual course.
This course is a phenomenal glow course!
