Pros:
+Innova Pro 28 Discatcher baskets
+colorful tee signs
+couple of interesting holes that use road or fence or sidewalk OBs
+well-maintained and pretty grounds on the campus
+never crowded
Cons:
-flat
-restricted access; players must be invited by a student or staff of the Seminary
-concrete tee pads are very short (8 feet long) and not flush to the ground, the worst combination known to disc golf
-hole 9 is unsafe with a swimming pool behind the basket that discs are sure to fly into on this short 230' hole
Other Thoughts:
Traversing this course, I was surprised by the size of this Baptist Seminary. I've lived in New Orleans for 35 years and had no idea that the campus was so big. The campus features numerous dorms, school buildings, apartments and even a bunch of single-family homes that the course winds its way through.
There's a decent amount of variety of holes here, from a long 400+ bomber with an OB road on the left, to short forehand favoring holes, and my favorite, hole 8. Hole 8 is a tad under 200 feet and plays dead straight with an OB fence on the right, an OB road on the left, and straight two lines of big pine trees in between. The fairway between the OB is about 30 feet wide, so the player can choose to dial back the speed to stay in bounds and play for par, or tempt fate and play for the risky deuce.
There's a lot of medium-length walks in between holes on this course, so it's a good workout. Nothing spectacular about this course, but it's interesting enough to play more than once. I'm sure the students who like disc golf enjoy this secluded urban oasis.
