Pleasant for baggers; fun for kids 2+ years

Pros:

This is a short municipal course that went up in 2019. I don't know how much play it's gotten during COVID, but I'm happy to draw any attention to it by writing the first review.

Mostly wooded, not very challenging - but fun to play. It's the perfect place for a casual putter round, or to bring newer players for a taste of playing woods golf. The experienced player will have to find lines through the woods, but you'll be using putters or mids which make for very satisfying shot shaping.

Cons:

- The tees are uneven mats. They were simply laid on the ground, and they're already sinking due to rain and snow. No room for footwork - standstill throws only

- The only signs are pieces of wood nailed to trees near the teemats with the hole number. They're effective at helping you find the next mat, but I never did find the sign or tee for #8. There's a fairly long walk from #5 to #6, but uDisc helps guide you until you see the sign

- Once you find each tee, you really do have to look around to find the basket. After the first few holes it's not really obvious. The biggest opportunity for error is on Hole #6: a short hard left dogleg to a basket hidden behind a mound, but the basket for #8 visible straight off the tee. Yeah: I played the wrong basket, and eventually figured it out

Other Thoughts:

Kudos to the DGCR member who took the time to put this course in the directory with lengths and tips for each hole! I've tried to return the favor by refining the map in uDisc to better reflect what's in here

For lack of a better word, this little course has a lot of charm. The first tee is on the edge of the parking lot, and you're throwing through a narrow path into deep woods, leaving one world, and entering another. The second hole (also very short) has a basket placed in a narrow clearing surrounded by rock outcroppings, Holes #5 - #9 play in deep woods with tall pines, and #9 adds some downhill. Don't get carried away though: this course is very short, the tees and signage are nonexistent, and the baskets are basic. It's a reasonable "2." An introductory course; a pleasant 30 minute bagging stop
