This little piece of lightly wooded park space was just barely big enough to squeeze in nine putt-putt sized DG holes for beginners, but they were able to create some shaped lines of flight to create interest and challenge for the intended audience. I was honestly surprised how well the frail-looking Hive (?) baskets caught medium to soft putts, and even a throw in from 150'.

There were at least two holes that could/should be played with double mandos off the tee (hole one would force a line to avoid the playground and basketball court, and hole five could be set up as a really nice, but makeable double-double mando!). At least seven of the nine holes are aceable, so the fun factor goes up a lot for casual players.

There were some significant danger issues in the layout if folks aren't playing extremely carefully. The first hole could easily be played over top of the ninth basket or right over the playground and basketball backboard. Many holes have cross-fairway potential for bad throws. All the holes have the next tee adjacent to the previous basket. And hole 6 doesn't belong on a disc golf course, much less on a putt-putt course for beginners. It plays straight at the pool fence, then supposedly between the corner of the fence and the impossibly thick wall of honeysuckle to the right (with what, a 5 foot gap?). You are almost forced to throw over the pool area every time (and that's a really bad idea).

Obviously, the course is extremely short, and won't challenge anyone who's played competitively. (That doesn't mean it's not fun for families with little kids...) Finally, the tee signs (natural turf tees with no solidly defined location) were not to be found except for holes 7 and 9, and these were lying on the ground. I'm guessing the park maintenance guys have just mown them over? First time players should bring Ajbova's nice map, and generally throw from the right side of each basket (coolest lines).

Played the course mostly because it was there, but enjoyed the beautiful day here with my buddy, throwing deuces around the pool. Felt like my old Frisbee days as a teenager. I paced off hole distances and added them here. We decided we would really like to make a couple of recommendations to the course manager: you really should break hole 6 into two separate holes. Throw to the slope in front of the pool fence, then step through the gap and throw alongside to the existing basket. I suggest you take out hole 9 to do this then rotate the baskets to complete the numbering in order, to finish on what is now hole 8), because nine plays across the sidewalk to the pool, and sits under the flight line of the first hole anyway. Then create some arrowed mando signs to suggest folks go between the trees on hole one and between all four trees on five. I'm still guessing the course record could be as low as 15 strokes in a year or two. And that's cool.

Reviewer Background as of this writing: played 283 courses and written 266 reviews, with skills hovering around a 900 rating, I started playing at 50 and am now 55. I don't throw far (300 footers feel like success), but am addicted to DG, and have played with folks ranging from age 7 to 87, so I try to write reviews helpful to all.

The pitch and putt course is tucked away in the back corner of the Northside Knights of Columbus property. It is a beginner level course that introduces the game to youth. It is short but there are challenging shots for new comers. Would not be much of a challenge to experienced players. I played 7 of the holes with a midrange or putter.

Baskets - 9 very grippy baskets that I believe we're Hive baskets but I cannot confirm that. They caught great. No spit outs. Baskets have hole numbers on the pole and on the flag above the basket.

Tees - 1 tee per hole. They are natural tees marked with a steak in the ground that lists the hole number, par, and has an arrow showing the line (straight arrow, slightly curved arrow, and hooked arrow). The tees are within 10 feet of the previous basket.

Variety - 5 of the holes are ~100-175 feet. 2 are less than 100 feet. 1 hole is about 300 feet. 1 hole is in the 400 foot range. There are several holes with mature trees as obstacles (3, 4, 5, 8, and 9). Hole 1 hooks around a playground. Hole 2 wraps around the end of a pond that is lined with several trees. Hole 6 has part uphill, part tunnel, and very narrow fairway (see cons). Hole 7 is wide open. Course ends with two relatively short holes with mature trees guarding the basket. 2 blind shots (2 and 6). 2-5 have several mature trees as obstacles. 6's fairway has 1 small gap then a moderately open fairway until the basket (even though borders the pool).

Great use of land. Realistically the area here has enough room for 4-5 quality holes in terms of length and challenge. The shorted holes with a few holes overlapping helped to make 9 complete holes.

Easy to find next hole even though the flow can be tricky.

Plenty of shade.

Playground, trash cans, and restroom (inside) on site.

Nearby options for food or snacks: 2 gas stations, Walmart, McDonald's, and Dairy Queen within 2 minutes of course.

Several challenging courses within 15-20 minute drive if you overgrown this course.

Course pretty much plays basket to basket. Not exactly a bad con seeing how compact this course is.

Hole 6 doesn't really fit in with the rest of the course. About 2-3 times longer than other holes. Narrow fairway borders the pool where I guarantee discs will land on the other side of fence. Goes from wide fairway to 4 foot gap to get around corner of pool. However, it will make new players better and more accurate. Hole would honestly benefit from being split into 2 separate holes.

Signage - Would be nice if distances were listed on the steaks in the ground. Course map would help with first time players.

Not very challenging for anybody who considers theirselves intermediate or advanced level. 2 is blind. 6 is a tricky hole.

A course map, Improved signs including distance, more visible tees, and splitting hole 6 into 2 shorter holes would improve this course.

With overlapping and crossing fairways, the first time you play, you might throw at the wrong baskets on holes 1, 2, and 3.

I regularly play pick up games of basketball here and upon my arrival today I noticed several baskets. In the past I have thought to myself this back corner could easily fit 3 disc golf holes to make a nice little practice area! Surprise, it fits 5. After walking around, I found the start, figured out the layout by walking the course to count baskets, and then played it. When I got home I added the course and created a map. I wish I knew more about the creation of the course.

I would recommend this course to anyone who is new to the game, especially children. If you have been playing for awhile, you will not be challenged by this course. I would suggest one of the other courses nearby. This course is aimed at new comers and it does a great job to make a new player feel comfortable with their game. It would also be a good course to practice putting and approach shots for experienced players.
