Epic final hole that you have to see to appreciate 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 19, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

Good mix of short, moderate, and longer holes and the course also incorporates OB well.
Excellent use of the trees on the first 3 holes.
Has some ACE RUN potential on the interior holes and one hard dog leg right hole on #4.
Holes 5-7 are more open holes.
Adequate signage and the MD baskets catch well.
Course was well maintained as well.
Epic final shot over a tree lined ravine with a protected basket. You just don't see holes like this everyday.

Cons:

No benches or trash cans, not a huge con but still the option would be nice to see.
Wind will be a factor on holes 5-7.
Some holes throw around walking trails and streets, be extra cautious.
Some of the tee areas can be slick at times.
The steps going down and up the ravine on the last hole can be slick too so proceed with caution.

Other Thoughts:

This course uses the terrain and trees to make things interesting. There are lines to be shaped on the first 4 holes then you get the chance to air out some mids or fairway drivers on the next 3 holes. Hole 8 is a slightly downhill shot and has a few trees upon approach.
All this leads to the signature hole, in my opinion, the last hole. You tee off on one side of a tree lined ravine and must clear quite a few trees and hope you land in an open space to make an uphill approach shot. The basket is pretty well protected and the hole plays longer than the 264ft that is listed on the tee sign. You want elevation, well here you go.
This last hole is one that I would love to have another crack at just so I could figure out which line I need to hit to score well. This was the perfect finishing hole, in my opinion.
If you are passing through the area then play this course. Its worth the stop for the last hole alone.
