18 holes crammed in 9 hole space 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 30, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

Tee pads were good. Baskets themselves are good. Nice woods area.

Cons:

This area at best could hold 9 good holes. They stuffed in 18. I could not find any map and you can see multiple baskets from each tee. I can't throw far and I found every hole to be too short and too simple. For some reason the baskets are sunk down pretty far. A few tees had no signs so it was a bit difficult to know which basket you were going for. One basket seemed to be missing. One hole has you teeing off into an immediate 90 degree turn to the right. People walking on course.

Other Thoughts:

It's a nice spot and could be fun if it was reworked as a 9 hole course. If you want to play 18 run it twice. Unless it's changed to a 9 hole I have no interest in going back.

They did what they could 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 30, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

It's another disc golf course- that is always a good thing.

Teepads- They are cement, large and in great shape!

A few fun shots off the tee.

It was a quick round.

New player friendly since distance are so short. I threw my mid-range and putter off the tee all but a couple holes.

It is a great looking park and a lot of time went into it- the trails are really nice and there were not many little stumps to trip over.

Cons:

Tee signs while accurate in distance, didn't even give a general direction to throw. When multiple baskets are present, that can be an issue.

The baskets themselves- a couple were crooked and most seemed too low to the ground. I had many bounce outs too- similar shots later in the day on a different course stuck into the chains for me.

Too many holes run next to other holes. The lone long hole (555 feet) was parallel to three or four holes going the other way. No one was out the time I was throwing but if this course is ever busy LOOKOUT.

I am all for a tightly wooded holes- however a couple of holes seemed to lack fairways entirely and I played in the winter. I can't imagine what it looks like in the dead of summer.

Variety- Short wooded hole, followed by short wooded hole, short wooded hole, etc. It seems like they could have put a couple open ones in somewhere.

Other Thoughts:

I think this course brings up a good question- at what point should a course designer say- let's do 9-to-12 good holes instead of 18 average or below average holes?

It is worth a play if you are in the area but it is not worth a drive. Maybe a good warm-up course for Midland, Freeland or Saginaw?

ace run, fun fun 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 15, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

Aesthetic--plays around a large multi-use park. does have several walking trails throughout but these double as disc golf trails :) shouldn't be an issue with walkers

Baskets-- nice chainstars. visible in the woods with orange necks!

Routing and nav--pretty easy. not really any one spot where you could possibly get lost.

Teepads-- huge. way more than needed for these little ace run holes. in great repair!

Teesigns-- adequate but no picture/map of the hole...

Cons:

Challenge-- this course is FULL of ace runs. one hole has a long tee of 555' but a short of 255'.

Pars-- a bit wonky. some are par 2's (adequate) but at the same time there are 4's that don't deserve 4's.

Other Thoughts:

fun little park. really no challenge but a fun time regardless.

Good practice 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 15, 2013 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

This is a really beautiful Park and you can tell a lot work was put into this course.

Cons:

Very very short holes. Some of these holes are not challenging at all. I have finish under par everytime I have played here, which says a lot because I really am not that good.
