The Real Deal 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 10, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

Rollin Ridge is the real deal...

Your experience starts with you walking past the driving range and into the best clubhouse on the planet.  Here you can grab a drink at their bar, play a game of pool, or stock up on their awesome inventory of discs.  The customer service is top notch with every person wanting to know who you are and why you decided to take the venture to their masterpiece.

Before you head to the tee, you can hit the range, load up on complimentary bug spray and grab a score card.

When you get to the 1st tee you can pick between 3 different tee boxes... Each tee box is groomed to perfection and really makes the course pop with originality.  EVERY tee box has a detailed map of the hole and pin position.

Every hole here would be a signature hole on another course so remember to stop and really admire the little details this course has to offer.  The fairways are mowed to perfection and the pins are easy to find because of their classic crimson color.

This course is easy to navigate because they follow the cardinal rule... You can never have too many signs!

Cons:

No cons... It's the only 5 I have ever rewarded.

Other Thoughts:

-It's the best Pay to Play in the State... Only $5.
-Hole 2 is amazing but make sure you put a little extra mustard on it to avoid the swamp.
-Trash does not exist on this course... I was speechless at the amount of care and consideration.

Steve and his Wife are awesome. This is a must play for anyone.

Cons:

Not many, other than the typical mosquitoes but there are cans available for sale and a few by the pay box. One of the best courses in Wisconsin.

Pros:

Rollin Ridge is a pay to play course which is open to the public. It's $5 a day to play and is well worth it to play a course of this caliber.

The course design here is fantastic. The course is mostly wooded with only a few open holes. I consider this course to be championship caliber, but the three sets of tees and multiple pin positions make the course friendly to a wide variety of skill levels and will challenge everyone. There are elevation changes on almost every hole, some are slight while others are more extreme. The shot variety here is excellent and you will need every shot in your bag at this course. There are a number of multi shot holes here, more from the longs, less from the shorts. I'm a big fan of multi shot holes and the ones here are great. There are definitely some unique holes here, I could consider a number of them the signature hole. The fairways are fair but tight on many of the holes. They force you to hit your line to score well. There is good risk/reward here. You can choose to pull out a driver and hope that you hit your line and have a chance at a birdie. Miss your line and you'll whack a tree, fly way off the fairway and be lucky to get par. Alternatively you can grab your midrange and if you keep it in the fairway par shouldn't be a problem to achieve. Many of the putting greens are protected or on hills and slopes which adds to the challenge. The course is very challenging and well designed.

The amenities here are the BEST I've ever seen in my disc golf travels. There is a nice big club house with drinks, beer, snacks, pro shop, tv, pool table, restroom, shower for campers. Just outside there is a driving range, practice basket and huge deck with picnic tables, bulletin board, course map and money drop to pay for playing this awesome course.

The amenities don't stop at the club house. On the course there are three concrete tee pads on nearly every hole, nice baskets, and benches at almost every tee. The landscaping that's been done here is absolutely amazing! There are a number of structures throughout the course to protect some tee pads from errant shots on other holes, there are large landscaping rocks around every tee pad, elevated walkways, raised baskets, a stair step wall with multiple landing platforms and the basket at the top. I really can't say enough good things about the immense amount of work that's gone into this amazing course. The course landscaping and amenities rival those at Blue Ribbon Pines IMHO and it could be debated that they surpass them.

The few open holes have tall grass growing off the fairway but they had the bright idea to cut some rows into the rough to make it easier to find your disc in the event of an errant shot. This is just another example of the great things they're doing here.

As impressive as the course is now, the best thing about the course is they continue to make improvements. Tons of work had already been put into the course when I first visited in March 2013. When I returned in July 2013, just 4 months later, an impressive amount of work has been done.

Cons:

The course could use tee signs and/or a more detailed course map. Like I said, they're not done working on the course and I know from talking to the owner and his brother that these things are on the way.

The basket on hole 4 has a number of trees in the fairway as you approach it. In my opinion it doesn't make the approach very fair, but thankfully this is the only place on the course I felt this way.

I heard the course can get buggy but they sprayed a little before my visit so I didn't have any problem with the bugs.

Other Thoughts:

This is a top notch destination course, it deserves its high ratings, and is well worth traveling out of your way to play.

I really want to give this course a 5, I have added it to my list of favorite courses and it is amazing. The lack of tee signs are literally the only thing stopping me from giving the course a 5 and I'll change that as soon as I hear they are added. It is phenomenal but I'm sorry, I can't say it's the best of the best without tee signs.

Even without them this course is amazing, go check it out!

An absolute gem 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 27, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is the best manicured course i have ever been to, it truly was just a joy to play and every single hole left me wanting to play the next. Really there was plenty of length in the course and such great GREAT tee pads. Never have i seen so much work go into creating an experience that is like this.

Cons:

The only thing i can think of is that it gets busy, which because it is such a fantastic course is completely understandable.

Other Thoughts:

Only question is did the owner make this in his back yard? Was the course his own private property? Cause that is so great.

Simply Amazing! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 21, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

Everything. Seriously. It's phenomenal.

All of the amenities you can think of. Good signage, nice map/scorecard, perfect teepads, benches on every teepad, garbages at every teepad, bugspray by the pro shop, large deck/patio area, and a pool table and bar in the pro shop. There are bridges in the low/wet areas.
There are wooden structures that not only look good, but also protect throwers on a teepad from errant shots on adjacent holes.
Every teepad has a colored circle on it so you know you're throwing from the right one. There are signs all over the woods telling you which direction to go to which teepad.

Great layout. Everything about every hole, from all three teepads, was very well thought out. It's a very difficult course that can give anyone a hard time. There's a great mix of shorter, more technical holes, and longer, more open holes. Lots of elevation change as well as a few small water hazards.

It's really almost everything you could ask for in a course.

Cons:

No hilltop bomber.

Other Thoughts:

Steve is a great guy and it was a pleasure to meet him. His love for the course shows and he's constantly working to add more features and improvements. His dedication is incredible.

The entrance is now marked with a sign on a large, red mailbox. It's pretty easy to spot.

I don't know if any course should truly be rated a 5, but I did because 4.9 wasn't an option.

The $5 to play absolutely reasonable for everything that this course offers. I'll certainly be making the trip to come back to one of the best courses this state has to offer.

Amazing Course which will only get better 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 8, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

The first two holes alone freaked me out and as a newer player, I thought I might have regretted going out here due to the challenge. However, the course evolved and ended up being amazing. So much so that we played two rounds in sweltering heat and humidity of the Sunday in the July 4th weekend.

There are wooded platforms over muddy spots and open woods that make loosing discs relatively impossible. Basket placement varies too. Some are high, some are slightly raised, some are low. Every hole has a challenge. The course itself is great exercise and feels like a hike without throwing the discs. I'm a bigger guy and lost 9 pounds on the day.

There is a really nice "man cave" style clubhouse here as well. Not finished when I visited, but I've heard from many people that this course has been under construction for years and they don't sit on their hands, so I suspect this will be completed shortly.

Cons:

As my buddy and I were playing our second round of the day, we sat down waiting for the group in front of us at the hilltop tee on 12. I asked him, "What is it about this course that makes it less than perfect?" We both agreed that not having tee signage yet was the glaring thing and we got confused a few times, even with the scorecard. Yes, there are bugs, but I don't blame a course for having bugs. It's the sacrifice you make for the seclusion and the atmosphere. Bring bug spray and you'll be fine.

Other Thoughts:

This is a difficult yet fair course, as a newer player, you shouldn't be afraid to play it. Courses like this make you appreciate a great disc golf course and it also helps your game.

If you live in Appleton like me, it will take you about 35 minutes to get there and it costs $5 for the day. I will definitely be making this trip about once a month or so and bringing more people each time. This place deserves to be seen, they have definitely put in the work and I wish them the best. This course makes O'Hauser look like the Summer 2013 version of Telulah park

A Must Play in WI 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 18, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

The meticulous care of the course and continuous improvements makes this course stand out.

Think BRP about how crafted and kept up this course is. #14 is a marvel of platform targets.

The wooded holes remind me of tower 2 on how you have to follow the fairways at the right distances to have open shots at baskets.

The holes have a couple open bombers, but for the most part play in woods with tight fairways. Shots to left, right, dead straight.. a good mix. An accurate thrower will excel here.

Tees are amazing.. bench or two at every tee pad.. (3+ per hole) alternate pin locations can keep it new.

Signs in the woods pointing to next tees are very helpful, you rarely have to refer to the map on the back of the scorecard.

Parking lot and entrance to the pro shop is amazing. Well done with a patio/deck they are putting in now.

Great people who run it. Friendly, and avid in making rollin ridge the best course possible.

Cons:

There isn't much for risk vs reward.

Parking lot could easily fill up for the tournaments, same with the garbage cans.. they are at every hole but are small buckets.

Can be soggy.. just the type of ground, which they try to deal with, and it was great to see woodchip paths, and even boards laid out as a path over some of the soggy spots. Not really a con as far as rating, just a warning to bring shoes you can get wet if you play april/may.

Other Thoughts:

If I could, I would rate it 4.95. That .05 is just my preference to have some sort of risk..

Hole 2 and 18 are the only one's that have water hazard in play for approaching the basket. I would personally want to see this maximized to force players to lay up or risk a long putt missing and going ob.
6 will be great with the improvements they are going to make.. a very tough pin placement with huge roll away potential.

There really isn't any very narrow paths that shortcut the dogleg holes either. Additions like that would to me at least, make it perfect.

The subtleties of design should not be overlooked. Instead of just distance to the tees, they are often placed at different angles.
18 for instance:
Long - A straight shot that needs to finish right to put you in best position to hit basket.
Middle - Hyzer to left to get the spot long was going to.
Short - Guardian tree on right that will kick you into woods, otherwise a straight shot with a bit of fade to line you up.

I think this course will be kept up to the highest standards in courses.

Talking to locals, they even have people come work on the course to get some free rounds. What a great idea.

These guys are enthused, and are putting major effort and $ into this course.

A must play.

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 17, 2012 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Where do I even start? This course is absolutely outstanding with 18 holes with each hole having 3 sets of tees and benches. Each tee has rocks around it and is beautifully landscaped. The tees are nice and long with a follow through area at the end with a colored circle to indicate the set of tees you are playing. The baskets are nice red Mach 3s (I believe) that stand out nicely when in the woods. Around the property there are tall wooden structures that lessen your chances of being hit by an errant shot from other holes. The course has a winter layout that shortens the course for play in the snow. The course has a club house on site with the building of a patio/deck area underway so now you can stand on the deck and watch the approaches and putts on holes 9 and 18. Another nice thing about this course is the lay out. If you are pressed for time and can only play 9 holes the basket for the 9th hole is fairly close to the parking area. Each hole out here is a different challenge weather it be length, tight gaps, baskets on the edges of hills, or a basket on a stack of tractor tires. Not a very crowded course but not dormant by any means. There is also a great deal of signage that makes navigation a breeze.

Cons:

I have heard the bugs are bad in the summer but that is just Mother Nature and should in no way stop anyone from playing this awesome course or affect my review.

Other Thoughts:

This course is amazing and from what I have been told from the designer is not completed to what was in visioned in the design process.

Rollin' Like I'm in Heaven 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jun 2, 2012 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

- Rollin' Ridge is 18 holes of throw-down-the-gauntlet, no-holds-barred, pure badassedness. Set in the rolling terrain of Wisconsin, the course starts at Steve's front drive into the woods, plays past a small marshy area in the open, plays back into the deep woods before winding back and forth throughout. Tight technical wooded shots. Long open bombers. Fairways that split into two fairways and then converge again. A crazy array of looks from the three different tee pads on many holes. Water. Elevation. Long wooded technical water holes. I mean, this course brings it for the entire 18. It's fair, but man you better manage your game well or risk getting a severe beat down.
- Elevation. Oh yeah there are some cool shots. Raised tees in places add elevation artificially where appropriate.
- Amenities. This is basically a private disc golf paradise with every luxury. It's done right. The color-coded tees are SICK. The wooden walkways over the marshy areas are gorgeous. One tee is even built into the wooden walkway! Oh yeah, the clubhouse, too.
- Beautiful. I mean, yeah. This course LOOKS like a disc golf course.
- Challenge. Each level of tees offers fair, progressively difficult challenges in a manner that all players should find very enjoyable (although certainly not easy). This course captures well the spirit, and helps bridge the gap, between old school Steady Ed type courses from the early 80's and the newer style of longer holes with defined landing zones.

Cons:

- WOW can the mosquitoes be bad here at certain times of year. Bring bug spray and pray.
- Nothing else. Really.

Other Thoughts:

- I was lucky enough to play Rolling Ridge (before the tees were poured!) during the 2010 Halloween doubles glow tourney. That round and a half made a deep impression on me and I've been hyping the Ridge since. A couple of years later I again got to play the Ridge during the T. O. Tourney. It was a real pleasure to see the immense strides the already solid course had taken. What Steve and the Crew have done here in a few short years is inspiring. The variety in tees is pure genius. The variety in shots required might be unparalleled, once each set of tees is taken into consideration. Not to mention most tees offer a completely different look to the hole, not merely adding distance to the same shot.
- I typically don't gush too much in reviews, but Rollin' Ridge is the real deal to me. There's no real flaw, excepting perhaps mother nature, and I pretty much never mark a course down for acts of nature. This is a destination course. Go play Rollin' Ridge already, jeez.

Best Amenities Around 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 12, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

Wow. So much hard work and time has been put into this course. This is the most well done course amenity wise I have ever been to. This course actually has staff working full time I believe. The pay to play is definitely worth it and the money has been put to good use. There are not 2, but 3 sets of concrete landscaped tees here and they are well color coordinated. There are long and even have a concrete zone on the end of the pad marked by a white line to follow through on. There is a fun mix of wooded shots with several open bombs, like the par 4 2nd hole. Some of the greens are very cool and creative. Hole 6's green especially stands out to me. The basket sits on the edge of a steep drop off which you must throw up. Check out the pictures as it is hard to do it justice with words. Hole 4's basket sits atop 3 giant tires. The elevation here is great overall and adds a lot to the course. There are many par 4s here and a great, nasty par 5 9th hole. The first shot is a uphill tight tunnel shot to a small landing zone. It is then a very skinny fairway all the way to the basket near the clubhouse. It's great that the front 9 ends at the beginning of the course. The directional signs are very helpful for navigation. The wooden structures, sculptures, and bridges all look great. They give a great aesthetic to the course and make it memorable.

Cons:

There are a lot of left curving holes and lines. It gets repetitive.

Hole 17 does not have a line which was disappointing. There is also not really a line on the approach to 18's basket.
The mosquitoes are horrible here, especially towards the end of the back 9. Beware.

There are no tee signs yet.

Other Thoughts:

If the course was better designed I would definitely up this rating half a disc or maybe even award it a 5.

Don't come hear expecting to rack up the deuces. This course is no deuce or die course.

The entrance to the course is not marked. Keep your eye for the gravel drive.

These baskets are from the DGA Basket Giveaway from Worlds a few years back. It's great they were put to good use.

Columns of trees. Multiple routes.
Wide open holes that still offer some degree of difficulty if not a lot of difficulty due to the insane length.
From the tee to the basket of every hole someone was very creatively inclined.
Most holes need to be laced very well with a little or strong hyzer towards the end of the flight path.

Cons:

Private beauty and dedication - one of an area trifecta of excellent courses 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 25, 2012 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

This is disc golf dedication to the max. A wonderful love of the sport, some dedicated landowners, partners, and volunteers, and the desire to build something great is ensuring this and will remain a top notch course. At Rollin Ridge, you almost have it all (missing the huge downhill bomber), and my preference for wooded technical courses is balanced superbly with some wide open rippers (soon to include watergardens and other beautiful landscaping), long and short wooded goodness along a rollin' ridge, awesome balance of left, right, straight, and mulit-route holes, water hazards, OB, and risky greens galore. Distance is varied well from short technical to long wooded and long open. There is not one throwaway hole. Three distinct tees are present on most holes, all well constructed to be grippy, plenty wide, and including a follow through zone. Multiple pin placements further add to the enjoyment by showcasing more of the beautiful property and more difficult routes through these wooded airways. There is not one throwaway hole! Two of the long wooded holes are legitimate par 4 holes, and one of the longer open holes could be with more strategic OB water hazard built where Blue level players typically land. Elevation is used to the fullest and maximized for well designed uphill throws and exciting downhill throws. Throwing along the crest of the rollin' ridges is also used to keep in line with the namesake. Memorable holes are thrown at you left and right in a variety of ways from neat gimmicks like the raised tire pin, tee in bridge, and also just with the beautiful natural terrain and setting of the property. Standing on the tees invokes the true disc golfer in me. They make you look down the fairway and get excited about stepping up and ripping the perfect drive to sail through such a gorgeous airway! I love challenge and risk, and a wooded course like this offers the need for accurate play, but then you throw in risky greens perched on the edge of excavated pits, surrounded by trees, or on a risky slope and I'm in disc golf nirvana. The attention to detail with the retaining walls and landscaping continues to get nicer and neater on a daily basis. Pay to play (on private property!) keeps the worthless chuckers off the course, and this is a huge bonus.

Cons:

No tee signs yet. I'd like to see three distinct tees per hole. IMO this completes the skill specific round and challenge for each individual skill level player in your group. Hole 3 would be an absolute par 4, with some strategic OB built about 325-375' from the pad, making it a decision to layup short, or bomb out over. The low portions of the course at the SW area of the property can get swampy, wet, overgrown, and mosquito infested. This sucks when you can't even focus on playing, but I can't deduct from the score. I have no doubt that the love of the game and this property will yield some fill, more bridges, and the amount of play will keep the undergrowth down. The property is right on US 10 between Manitowoc and Appleton. This introduces quite a bit of road noise and lack of seclusion on a handful of holes, and I love the quiet solitude of remote courses. I have not seen poison ivy, although the area is known for fields of it, only some nettles. Despite not deducting for bugs, I do deduct for poison ivy and other plants that can be controlled. Color labels for the tees bugs me. The corresponding pdga consistent tee pad color layout per skill here would be white, blue, gold. The short tees here are harder than red recreational tees, they are probably equivalent to white tees (especially with many being shared use). The middle tees here are equivalent to blue tees. The long tees here are equivalent to low gold tees.

Other Thoughts:

I didn't get to play the tee built into the bridge yet, but what a wonderful addition to this amazing course. This will be a great gem of a private "club" course in the northeast WI area. Rollin Ridge offers a perfect trifecta with the brutal untamed nature of Winter Park in Kewaunee and the manicured city park design setting at Silver Creek in Manitowoc. The course alone is worth a trip out of your way. If travelling through or near the area on business or pleasure, make this a stop. When you include Winter and Silver, you'd be insane not to take a day (LONG day) to play all three! To me, in the battle of the Ludington ferry courses, this trifecta offers lightyears more variety and balance than the Leviathan/Flip/Mason trifecta. These are the blood red baskets won from DGA in one of the first basket giveaways, they will hold up great and look awesome in the woods. Despite the course not falling into 100% complete balance and variety with a huge downhill ripper, or a definite formidable water hazard, the clubhouse and private feel make this an amazing course. It shakes out to a 4.7 in my spreadsheet, and I would round up to a 5.0 for the atmosphere, dedication, and absolute certainty that this will only get better, but the road noise bugs me, and total variety is vital to my 5.0 ratings. Make no mistake, 4.5 is an awesome score in my book. I hear talk of waterfalls, watergardens, incredible clubhouse, and all kinds of special events and can't help but smile at what this course is soon to become.

Blue Ribbon Pines meets Standing Rocks 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 14, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

Excellent Teepads! Course layout is fantastic with the multiple pads to appeal to a broader audience. Course manicuring and structures built by the locals are some of the most rewarding things to see on any disc golf course. The lattice work and field fences were my favorite current touches. People are constantly still working on this course (seen while we were there)

Cons:

No signs, yet. Course is 80-90% complete as far as extras and final placement.

Other Thoughts:

This course is my new favorite in the state. Such a diverse setup of shots, distances, and styles that can get you through the tough/challenging design. The longs are quite a beating if you don't have your A+ game, but never felt like the course was unfair by any means. Extremely fun to play and challenging at the same time. Quite a difficult hybrid to achieve in such a new course.

I absolutely would give this a 5 if the tee signs were up. Such a great place for so many reasons. Play it, you won't regret it.

Really like Rollling but lacks Professional Design 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Aug 12, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

Rolling Ridge is a great newer course. The entrance marked by a red mailbox coming in so keep an eye out for a gravel drive. It's tough to find. The course plays in and out of a nice wooded area. They have done a great job of cleaning up the wooded fairways of rough. There are also several holes in the open. Rolling hills come into play in and out of the woods. A few wetland areas come into play too.

New Red DGA Mach 3's. They were won at the 2007 Am Worlds in the DGA drawing. It's great seeing them on the course.

What can I say about the tee pads. EVERY course should have tee pads like this. They are level and plenty long. They have a line that marks the front and there is room to follow thru on the front side. AWESOME! Not only that there are 3 sets of them on every hole. WOW!

There are some nice par 4's & 5's on this course. The black tees are tough! The short course measures 5,700 feet. The long course measures 7300 feet. If you come here expecting to get a bunch of birdie 2's like the traditional disc golf you are going to be disappointed.

There were directional arrows on the course. We had no problem navigating it the first time thru. They pointed to each tee even saying go this way for the long and this way for the medium.

They have spent a ton of money on lumber. There are several foot bridges and benches. Along with that they've made some impressive structures and landscaping near many of the tees.

I really liked the pyramid on #5.

The hillside green on #6 was cool.

Cons:

Right now there are no tee signs. They said they have plans for them and a grand opening next year.

There are a lot of RHBH holes. There are many holes with scattered trees in the fairway. The lines were a bit tricky and didn't have the ultimate fun factor that I like. At times the course felt repetitive. In the end I went with 4.0 due to the awesome concrete tees and work that has been done knowing tee signs are on the way.

Other Thoughts:

This is well worth the trip and they should be charging a minimum of $5.00 to play. $3.00 is a bargain! While we were there 3 guys were hard at work on the course. I have a feeling it's going to keep getting better.

This is probably the hardest review in terms of rating this a 4 or 4.5 that I've done. I've gone back and forth in terms of fun factor and signature/memorable holes.

Lucky for us we got a cool and windy morning. The skeeters left us alone. By the time we left they were starting to come out. Bring bug spray!

We got a nice dry time to play but a few spots were a little soft due to some rain a few days before. If you are making a long trip I'd check the conditions before leaving.

We played Winter Park after. What a great day of disc golf. 2 great courses.

Tough and fun! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 2, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is a fantastic piece of wooded property with rolling hills. Many of the shots bring some minor to moderate elevation changes into play, with several fun downhill shots and some tricky uphills. A few of the holes have greens with rollaway potential, and many others have obstacles in play to keep the short game challenging. Water comes into play on a few holes, with swamp areas on 1 and 2 that can easily come into play on an errant drive, and a lurking pond on 18 in a potential landing zone for players going for a birdie.

The three sets of tees add an amazing variety here. Each offers very different lengths and lines, so the replay value here is high and there is a great opportunity for most skill levels to find an appropriate challenge here. Each set of tees has a good mixture of hole lengths, from bombers to some reachable shots. There are a handful of open or half open holes to balance out the majority of tightly wooded shots with tough punishment for missing the fairways.

The concrete tees are a great size, and have plenty of grip. There are inset colored dots on each for the red, orange and black sets of tees. An enormous amount of work has gone into making this a special place to play, with protective walls, built up elevated tees, bridges over creeks and a boardwalk with inset paver tees in a wet portion of the course.

Cons:

The layout is a little heavy on RHBH hyzer shots, especially from the shorter sets of tees. There's a little more variety on the blacks, but it still seemed like that was the predominant shot. There are no tee signs, even to show the hole number, so navigation can be a little tricky if you get at all turned around, and some of the tees are a little out of the way to find. With lots of long blind shots in the woods you'll have to do some extra walking your first time out if you want to know where to throw. There are a few low areas of the course that seem to hold water for a while and provide a breeding ground for the copious and especially vicious mosquitoes that inhabit this area.

Other Thoughts:

Beginners might find even the shortest tees a little tough, though they do provide a pretty reasonable length for newer players. More experienced players will find the orange tees a nice challenge, and the blacks will test even top players, there's plenty of challenge here with tough rough to contend with if you miss your lines.

I would definitely recommend a stop here, it's one of my favorites in the state and well worth the trip. The clubhouse is a great place to hang out between rounds, with a pool table, bar, and tables around the windows facing the greens for holes 9 and 18. All the little extra touches are a nice bonus here, and add to the great vibe they have going.
