Pros:
+ No entry fee
+ Past hole 3, holes are in nature and quite pretty
+ Currently unknown course with very few golfers, allows you to really control the pace of your round
Cons:
- Weed overgrown is intense and without maintenance course quickly becomes unplayable, with fairways covered in 1ft+ weeds
- Thick thorns, concrete/blacktop scrap, hidden stumps, and holes where you need to backtrack the fairway to get to next hole are all hazardous to players.
- Course design for nearly every hole heavily favors forehand shot shape, lacking variety.
- Holes 1-3 are too close to residential property
- No benches
Other Thoughts:
This course would take a ton of effort to make it work and it's currently getting none. The weed issue is so intense I would call this course 'unplayable' during the summer. The park does appear to have some maintenance crew as they cut the grass in certain park areas, but they do not mow or maintain anything on the course.
Course was playable during spring but still suffered from poor conditions and design issues. Why have a 9 hole course with like 7 holes for forehand? Why are there baskets in the middle of mounds of old blacktop waste? Why are holes designed to have players backtrack the fairway to access the path to the next hole?
On a good day it can be frustrating but somewhat fun. On a bad day, its hazardous and near impossible to play.
